ALegend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomplayer has discovered that shooting Dazzlefruit at light-activated switches is just as good as using mirrors to direct light to them, allowing players to outright skip some of the game’s puzzles. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomis all about giving players as much freedom as possible. This means letting them complete puzzles in nearly any way that they can think of.

Player freedom inZelda: Tears of the Kingdomis supported by Link’s new abilities in the game. Fuse, for example, gives Link the ability to combine nearly anything he comes across to his weapons and arrows. There are all kinds ofhelpful Fuse combinations inTears of the Kingdomthat can give players a serious advantage in combat, but these combinations can also help players skip some of the game’s puzzles.

This was discovered by Reddit user Truenobyl, who found out that shooting Dazzlefruit at light-activated panels activates them. This completely bypasses the need to adjust mirrors and direct light at panels, which is the “intended” way for players to complete the puzzles. The catch is that Link will need a multi-shot bow handy, or will otherwise need to be aiming in mid-air to slow down time and hit the panel enough times withDazzlefruit-infused arrowsto activate it.

This trick will significantly speed up certain areas in the game, particularly the Lightning Temple, which has multiple panels like this. While someZeldaplayers will want to solve the puzzles the normal way, or otherwise save their Dazzlefruit for enemy encounters, others will jump at the opportunity to completely skip some ofTears of the Kingdom’s puzzles.

As more players get their hands onZelda: Tears of the Kingdom, it will be interesting to see if any other helpful Fuse combinations like this come to light. Andif Nintendo ever releasesZelda: Tears of the KingdomDLClike it did forBreath of the Wild, one has to wonder what that might introduce to the mix to give players even more options when it comes to conquering the various obstacles in the game.
