Those looking forward to the isometric adventure gameTunicwill be able to try it soon. A new trailer during the Summer Game Fest 2021 shows off some more gameplay and details about the indie title. Starting next week, players will be able to get their hands on aTunicdemo coming to Xbox.
Originally revealed in 2017,Tunicis developed by Andrew Shouldice and published by Finji. In the game, players take control of a small fox equipped with the signature green garb. From there, they must explore the world while facing off against dangerous creatures and solving puzzles. The title incorporatesconcepts from the classicLegend of Zeldaseries and combines them with a new perspective and art style.

On the stream, Shouldice speaks more about the demo which is available June 15 - 21 exclusively for Xbox platforms. After washing ashore, players will begin the adventure and look for items like a stick, or later a sword, to defend themselves. It is clear from the trailer that the protagonist will have standard attacks and dodges to take on these threats. But the developer mentions how there is little context to guide the fox, which allows those playing to uncover the world around them.
According to Shouldice, the game has been shown off in different exhibitions before. Some fans may have already jumped in duringpreviously releasedTunicdemos. However, by presenting a new teaser experience, the team can get more players trying out the game firsthand. The new demo has never-before-seen content such as a dungeon and unique areas to explore.
The absence of a heavy-handed narrative from the beginning should be exciting for those who like a good mystery. A hallmark of the originalZeldaandBreath of the Wildis the open worldwith a hands-off approach to story progression. WhileTunicmay be of a smaller scale, it still aims to capture a similar atmosphere. Xbox gamers will need to try the demo for themselves, but the upcoming title does bring a popular genre to the console.
