Each new phase forWorld of Warcraft Classic:Season of Discoverybringsnew Runes for every class, including a variety of new Priest Runes forSoD Phase 4. In addition to new P4 Priest Runes for the Cloak slot, there are a variety of Priest Ring Runes to choose from which grant a variety of skill bonuses, intended to level the playing field at max level.
Though there are lots of new Priest Runes that complement those introduced inPhase 1 and Phase 2, andin Phase 3, some of these older Runes may have been removed and replaced, or changed entirely. This guide details what the new Priest Cloak Runes and Priest Ring Runes do in SoD P4, and explains what (if any) Runes were removed and replaced with new options.
Updated June 27, 2025 by Erik Petrovich: There are three new SoD P4 Priest Cloak Runes, and several new Phase 4 Priest Ring Runes, that players can collect in the latest phase for Season of Discovery. After a particularly productive weekend after the release of SoD Phase 4, Priest Runes locations have all been discovered. This guide has been updated to include detailed instructions to find all new Priest Runes Phase 4 introduced, including specific coordinates to help you hone in on the exact location of every new Priest Rune SoD P4 players can get.
Binding Heal Effects
How To Get Binding Heal Rune: The SoD Binding Heal Rune location is in the Western Plaguelands. First, pick up “Lost Heirloom” in your capital city from your class trainer, then head to the Western Plaguelands, specifically to Sorrow Hill Crypt. Look for the Family Heirloom, Family Records, and Survivor Journal items in the Crypt, then return to pick up the next step. For “Relic of Light”, head to Hearthglen in the Western Plaguelands and look for the Town Hall. Pick up the book on the podium, then return to your capital city once again.
Finally, pick up the last quest step, “Scarlet Research,” which leads you to Tyr’s Hand. Look for the Bell Tower, then go upstairs and interact with the Locked Box. Defeat nearby enemies to get a Key to open this chest, then return to your class trainer. They will give you the Jubilant Epiphany item, which unlocks the Binding Heal rune.
Soul Warding Effects
How To Get Soul Warding Rune: The SoD Soul Warding Rune location is in Stratholme, in the Eastern Plaguelands. Go to Stratholme Live and defeat Postmaster Malone to get three different Mailbox keys. Clear the dungeon until you reach the Cannon Master Willey area, then look for three Pillars that were added with SoD.
Defeat each Mailbox box to get an Essence, then follow the clues on the three Pillars near the Cannon Master boss to figure out which three bosses you must defeat with this Essence active. Defeat the bosses to collect the three required Essences, then combine the three together to create the Oneriric Epiphany, which creates the Soul Warding rune.
Vampiric Touch Effects
How To Get Vampiric Touch Rune: The SoD Vampiric Touch Rune location is in Demon Fall Canyon, the brand-new Phase 4 dungeon in southeast Ashenvale added for Season of Discovery. You must first become Attuned to this dungeon by completing the Shadowtooth Emissary’s “Demonic Deceptions” pre-quest, which itself requires you to have completed “The Wild Gods” too. Beat Hellscream’s Phantom at the end of DFC to unlock Vampiric Touch.
New Priest Ring Runes In P4
All Priest Ring Runes follow the same unlock method – find specific books somewhere in the world, and you will unlock Ring Runes that boost your Skill for particular class weapons and spell specializations. At Max Level, against elite higher-than-60 mobs, having a +5 to your weapon or spell skills makes it significantly less likely that you will miss attacks and casts.
Thesenew Runes give every classthe ability to boost two of their Weapon Skills, Spell Specializations, or Defense Skills by a small, but not insignificant, amount. When it comes to new Priest Ring Runes,WoW SoDplayers have five choices.
How To Get Holy Specialization Rune: To find the Holy Specialization Rune location, head to Tyr’s Hand in the Eastern Plaguelands and look for the Red Book in a library to the north of this subarea. This SoD Ring Rune book is located around the coordinates (83.5, 78).
How To Get Shadow Specialization Rune: To find the Shadow Specialization Rune location, head to the very northern branch of the Tainted Scar in the Blasted Lands to find this Red Book resting on an Altar. This Phase 4 Ring Rune book is located around the coordinates (32.5, 49).
How To Get Dagger Specialization Rune: To find the Dagger Specialization Rune location, head to the far southwest of Silithus to the Burning Blade camp and look for this Red Book in one of the first tents. This SoD Ring Rune book is located around the coordinates (20.5, 19.5).
How To Get Mace Specialization Rune: To find the Mace Specialization Rune location, you will need to get on top of Grim Batol in the southeast of the Wetlands. This Phase 4 Ring Rune book is located around the coordinates (74, 69).
How To Get Pole Weapon Rune: To find the Pole Weapon Specialization Rune location, head to the Temple or Arkkoran in Azshara and look for this Rune Specialization book on top of an altar. This SoD Ring Rune book is located around the coordinates (78, 38).
