Summary
Warning: Spoilers for Dragonflight: Guardians of the Dream below.
The new Tyr questline inWorld of Warcrafthas some special dialogue for players who have certain weapons equipped or transmogged. This clever callback requires characters to bring the Paladin Artifact weapons from Legion, or a drop from Dawn of the Infinite, with them when they complete thisWorld of Warcraftstoryline.
In Patch 10.2,World of Warcraftintroduced the final chapter of theSilver Purpose storyline introduced at the beginning ofDragonflight. This sidequest series involved the reconstruction, and eventual revival, of Tyr, the Titan Keeper responsible for first empowering the Dragonflights with their sacred charges.

However, some fans have discovered Tyr has some special dialogue for players who bring certain weapons to him. Once players begin the follow-up quest after his revival, if players equip or transmog the Paladin artifacts Truthguard or the Silver Hand, or The Infinite Hand from Dawn of the Infinite, Tyr comments on the weapons. These interactions occasionally happened with certain NPCs and Artifact weapons fromLegion, and according to thescreencaps byWorld of Warcraftfan Campfire Goth on their Twitter, it also happens with these three weapons connected to Tyr.
World of Warcraftappreciates a good Easter egg, especially when it is steeped in the game’s lore. These lines of dialogue are hardly earth-shattering, but many believe their addition proves a level of forethought onWorld of Warcraft’s part. Players probably would have been disappointed if Tyr had no reaction towards seeing his old weapon at the very least, so this detail helped to build immersion and delight players at the same time.
Tyr’s special dialogue isn’t the onlyLegioncallback during this storyline’s conclusion. In the quests leading up to it, players go to an alternate version of Suramar in the past.World of Warcraftfans were delighted to run into Runas, a beloved NPC fromLegion’s questing experience, and be teased with the return of Elisande, a major raid boss who died during Nighthold. Though not a part of the main story of Patch 10.2, many think the ending of the Silver Purpose questline will probably have big implications for the future ofWorld of Warcraft.
