World of Warcraftfans have been buzzing with excitement over the MMO’s recent announcements, not least of allDragonflight, its next expansion. During a round table interview,World of Warcraftconfirmed a new questline pertaining to the Forsaken, the Tirisfal Glades, and Calia Menethil is coming in Patch 9.2.5.

The roundtable interview was hosted by Taliesin, of the popularWorld of Warcraftcontent creator duo Taliesin and Evitel. He spoke with lead narrative designer Steve Danuser and game director Ion Hazzikostas, fielding community questions aboutDragonflight.

During the interview, Taliesin asked if Calia, elder sister of the original Lich King and former princess of Lordaeron, would appear inDragonflight. Danuser said she would likely not be playing a role in the expansion but that she would appear in a questline in the Tirisfal Glades in 9.2.5.

Previously,World of Warcraftfanshad discovered an encrypted minimap of the Tirisfal Glades zone. The map seemed to depict the area, which had been ravaged by war and blight inBattle for Azeroth, starting to recover from the damage, with the town of Brill possibly being rebuilt. An encrypted model of Calia was discovered along with the map, all but confirming their connection with the quests Danuser hinted at.

There is a Dark Iron Dwarf andBlood Elf Heritage Armor Questline on theWorld of WarcraftPublic Test Realmfor 9.2.5 right now. It is possible that the Tirisfal Glades questline could be a similar Heritage Armor quest for Forsaken players. The questline could also offer Dark Ranger customizations–a popular fan request that, when brought up during the interview, Danuser compared to the Night Warrior customization, which was unlocked through a similar questline inBattle for Azeroth, while avoiding the question itself.

ManyWorld of Warcraftfans are excited to finally get some resolution to the Siege of Lordaeron. The Forsaken have been without their capital city for nearly two expansions now, and many were dismayed to seetheir faction receive little attention inShadowlands. These players would be even more excited if these questlines came with new Forsaken-themed armor or Dark Ranger customizations.

However, some Forsaken fans are worried about the questline. Calia has been a contentious character since she was brought back as a lightforged undead after her death in theBefore the Stormnovel. Though she is the rightful heir to the throne of Lordaeron, the kingdom is as dead as its people, and many fans believe the former princess has not earned the right to lead them over other Forsaken characters like Lilian Voss. ThoughWorld of Warcraftdoes not seem to be pushing for her to become the sole leader of the Forsaken, players will have to wait until the patch releases to see what happens.
