Even though Insomniac’sSpider-Manbroke multiple sales recordsfor both Sony and Marvel, the satisfying web-slinger has been slightly underappreciated when compared to games likeGod of WarandRed Dead Redemption 2. Much likeHorizon Zero Dawnin 2017, Insomniac received no awards at this year’s Game Awards, despite it being nominated in numerous categories. The lack of awards was completely unexpected due to the overwhelming amount of praise fans have given it. However, despite the praise, many fans are still seeking more content from Insomniac, specifically another suit.

When it comes to post-launch content and feedback, Insomniac has been anything but silent. Having only releasedSpider-Manin early September, Insomniac has already rolled out two segments of its three-part DLC expansion,The City That Never Sleeps. With the final part,Silver Lining, releasing in a week, Insomniac Games has been extremely active when it comes to its DLC plans. However, many dissatisfied fans have vocalized that they want Sam Raimi’s suit to be added toSpider-Man.

Through a series of tweets, a few fans were involved in what seems like a semi-heated discussion between them and Insomniac. One fan, unhappy with the lack of detail provided regardingSpider-Man: Silver Lining, sparked a second conversation in which another fan posted a photo of Sam Raimi’s suit, adding the caption, “Come on, Insomniac. You said you were listening.” Although there are over 35 total suits to unlock inSpider-Man- including theAvengers: Infinity Warsuit, the number of dissatisfied fans supporting the possible addition of Raimi’s suit forced Insomniac to respond. Insomniac then replied saying, “Listening doesn’t mean we always will do what people tell us to. We hear you. Hearing doesn’t mean we always act or follow.”

Although some suits from pastSpider-Manmovies have been added to the game, it is difficult to say whether fans will see Sam Raimi’s suit from the originalSpider-Mantrilogy be added. While many fans are asking for it, Insomniac likely has a significant amount of red tape it would need to cross in order to make it happen. Putting all the licensing problems aside, Marvel and Disney are more interested in promoting current money makers - which explains why the suit fromSpider-Man:Into the Spider-Verseis being added in theSilver Liningexpansionnext week. However, it is certainly not impossible that the number of fans pushing for the addition of Raimi’s suit may be convincing enough for future DLC.
