Plenty of familiar faces have returned inAnimal Crossing: New Horizons, from Tom Nook to Isabelle.One of these familiar facesis the sailing seagull, Gulliver, continuing his eternal fate of waking up on the shores of unfamiliar places. With his reappearance comes special furniture that can only be obtained from Gulliver himself. Here is how to complete Gulliver’s task and get that furniture.
Similar to when Gulliver was a space explorer inAnimal Crossing: Wild WorldandAnimal Crossing: City Folk,players will need to find specific items for Gulliver so that he may return to where he came from. InAnimal Crossing: New Horizons, these items are Communicator Parts that are for Gulliver’s smartphone. These can be found around the beach where the salty seagull was originally found, but finding them may prove to be a bit tricky at first.

In order to find these communicator parts,a shovel is needed, which can be crafted after receiving the recipe from Blathers. However, the dig spots for the Communicator Parts don’t look like the dig spots for any other item. The spots for the parts look like little shadows that occasionally spout water like the image below. These spots can also land a Manila Clam that can be made into bait. These spots are generally nearby Gulliver in some capacity.
After digging up five of the Communicator Parts, Gulliver will be able to call his ship so his crew-mates can pick him up. Players will receive a letter from Gulliver the very next day thanking them for saving him. Inside this letter will containa special furniture piecebased on a real world monument that can only be received from Gulliver. Even after gaining access to the catalog later in the game will not allow players to reorder the furniture, so players are recommended to hold on to what they get from the seagull.
When Gulliver appears is random, but at this time it isn’t known if he appears before players are able to have access to the shovel. If players wish to find Gulliver, they should comb their beaches very thoroughly when they start upAnimal Crossing: New Horizonsfor the day.
