The Preseason for Ubisoft’sXDefiantis coming to a close, and with it comes the fast-approaching release of the highly anticipated Season 1 update. While many fans may be wondering when to expect the release ofXDefiantSeason 1,Ubisoft has provided details on its exact start dateand unveiled much of the content yet to come.
XDefiantlaunched into its Preseason on Jul 28, 2025, opening the doors for players to jump into its fast-paced, arena-style shooter gameplay. This free-to-play shooter has already seen several small content drops, including the release of its Team Deathmatch game mode,changes to weapon progression, and a much-needed nerf to Sniper Rifles. However, Season 1 sees the arrival of the first big content drop forXDefiant, much to the excitement of many players.

When Does XDefiant Season 1 Release?
Season 1 forXDefiantwill commence on July 2forPC, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5. This will mark the end ofXDefiant’s Preseason, giving players a short window to claim their Preseason Battle Pass rewards. Anin-depth look at all the available content for Season 1 will also be unveiled on July 1in an episode of XDebrief on Ubisoft’s official YouTube channel.
In the meantime, while players await the arrival of Season 1, anyone who logs intoXDefiantbefore the end of the Preseason will receive up to 10 Battle Pass XP Boosters and a Common Weapon Skin for boththe M4A1and M44.

What To Expect With XDefiant Season 1
Season 1 will mark the debut of additional content forXDefiant. The first and biggest standoutaddition is the debut ofRainbow Six Seige’sGSK Faction, featuring aroster of Faction Abilitiesand three playable characters. TheSeason 1 Battle Passwill also make its debut, providing various cosmetic rewards for both free and premium Battle Pass owners. On the topic of new rewards,three additional weaponswill also arrive with this upcoming seasonal update, including theL115 Sniper Rifle, theSawed-Off Shotgun, and theLVOA-C Assault Rifle.
But that’s not all. Players can also expect to seea new map for each monththat Season 1 is live. The maps Ubisoft unveiled includeClubhouse and RockefellerfromRainbow Six Siege, along withDaytona. Season 1 will also introduceCapture the Flag, providing players with an additional objective-based game mode to dive into. Finally, the last few additions forXDefiantSeason 1 includethe full debut of Ranked Play, featuring new Ranked Progression and rewards, along withadditional Weapon Mastery Skinsfor players to grind for.
