Per the info on the PlayStation Store, the demo version ofValkyrie Elysiumwill be available on September 15, allowing players to enjoy the first chapter of the game. This means that players can get to know some of thecharacters inValkyrie Elysium, and then continue their progress come September 29.
While it technically serves as the latest entry in theValkyrieseries,Valkyrie Elysiumisn’t a sequel to any of the previous games. Instead,Valkyrie Elysiumwill carry its own original story, meaning that players who are new to the franchise can still enjoy itwithout having to delve into the pastValkyriegames. That being said, fans of the series will probably enjoy the familiar setting and themes inValkyrie Elysium, which are once again heavily influenced by Norse mythology.
Also different is how the game approaches combat asValkyrie Elysiumis adopting high-tempo action-based combatthat relies on combo systems, similar to what players would get in games likeNier: Automata. This demo version will surely allow players to acquaint themselves with how the combat system works, while also at the same time experimenting with some of the different playstyles that the game supports.
A free demo for an upcoming video game is always a great opportunity for players to find out if the game is really for them, and this one forValkyrie Elysiumcertainly serves the same purpose. Whether the game would live up to thelegacy of theValkyriefranchiseremains to be seen.
Valkyrie Elysiumwill launch on September 29 for PS4 and PS5, and on November 11 for PC.
