WhenTiny Tina’s Wonderlandslaunched, theBorderlandscommunity was quick to shower it with praise, as the spin-off did many things right. The maps felt enjoyable to traverse, the writing was entertaining, and the game featured some truly unique Legendaries to hunt for due to the addition of spells. With the Overworld,Character Creator, and Chaos Chamber all being popular, too, fans had a lot to praise and only a few things to criticize.
Unfortunately, the wayTiny Tina’s Wonderlandsis approaching DLC was met with heaps of criticism, and for good reason. Doing away with the popular format of four major story expansions,Tiny Tina’s Wonderlandsfeatures four missions called Mirrors of Mystery as well as a new class. Sadly, these Mirrors of Mystery are disappointing, something that has turned the discussion aroundWonderlandsfrom positive to negative. To being back some positive buzz, a second, expansion-filled Season Pass should be released.

The Issue With Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands’ Mirrors of Mystery
TheMirrors of Mystery inTiny Tina’s Wonderlandsare designed to be replayable, and while they are to an extent, they are only 20-30 minutes long. After a few runs, players will have grown tired of fighting the new bosses for Lost Souls to use on the Wheel of Fate. As a result, each $10 DLC will give most players an hour of playtime, with the $30 Season Pass providing a mere four hours of content.
This is a far cry from the popularBorderlandsexpansions, as each of those DLCs would provide at least four hours (usually more) of unique enemies, areas, and quests. With a single $15 DLC provides as much as the $30 Season Pass, it is no wonder why fans are let down. While the Mirrors of Mystery content does go into the Chaos Chamber, and the new class could turn out to be unique, players were looking forward to expansions so that they had something exciting to do with their fully leveled characters. Gamers can only have fun with Chaos Chamber runs for so long, after all.

A Season Pass 2 For Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands is Desperately Needed
WithTiny Tina’s Wonderlands’ sales blowing Gearbox away, it simply makes sense to continue supporting the game - and to support it in the way the community wants. While fans are angry about the Mirrors of Mystery, many loved the base game ofTiny Tina’s Wonderlands. As such, the community could ensure a second Season Pass is a worthwhile investment on Gearbox’s end, with many likely to flock back to the game if some major expansions get released.
Tiny Tina’s Wonderlandscould do plenty with some proper expansions, as the Mirrors of Mystery areas show how much untapped potential the fantasy setting still has. Each DLC could be a mini campaign created by Tina, with her sitting down alongside two other friends to make sure the new stories feel completely fresh. A DLC based on the Bunkers and Badasses module from the Treasure Trove edition could be fun, as could an expansion that does more withZygaxis and the Amnesiac. Another class could be added in a second Season Pass, too, bringing the total number up to eight.
The Mirrors of Mystery would have been greatsmall DLC like Headhunter Packs, but they were overpriced and took the place of the post-launch content that fans actually wanted. While the damage is already done with the current Season Pass, Gearbox should return to its old formula in a second collection of DLC. WithBorderlands 3already setting the stage for a second Season Pass, it would not be shocking to see another. In the case ofTiny Tina’s Wonderlands, though, it seems almost necessary. The game feels like it was made for big expansions, and right now, they could be the only thing that can win back the frustratedWonderlandscommunity.
Tiny Tina’s Wonderlandsis available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
