Thesuccess ofPokemon GOduring the last several monthshas reinvigorated the mobile gaming fan base. Ever sincethe first reveal forMonster Slayer, many fans have voiced their excitement. The game looks to lean more in the direction ofWizards Unite, where the player encounters creatures and uses the touchscreen to battle and defeat them. Gamers can create their own Witcher, walk around to encounter fierce creatures, and gather trophies upon a successful slay. There are apparently going to be dozens of beasts in the game, some never before seen in the franchise.
The Witcherworld is full of hidden discoveries and secrets to explore. Some players have spent hundreds of hours in the gamesand still missed some hidden things. Hopefully,Monster Slayerlives up to this and has plenty of secrets and mysteries throughout the game. From completing side quests to tracking down rare monsters, the game already looks to hold many of the aspects of the console games that gamers know and love.
One aspect ofThe Witcheruniverse that might not make the transition is romance. Relationships are avery big part of Geralt’s story, but it is unclear how that would work in a mobile game. While the console games are large enough to include plenty of romance options, it would probably make more sense to have the mobile experience focus solely on the world and the monsters.
With the excitement forMonster Slayerburning hot right now, it is crazy to see how The Witcher has completely taken over most forms of media. There are of course the original books and the video games, but the Netflix series is set for a second season as well. Netflix has also announced a prequel story, titledBlood Origin, which will explore the first Witcher. It seems there is somethingWitcher-related for everyone right now, with plenty more to come.
The Witcher: Monster Slayeris expected to release in 2020 for Android and iOS.
