Despite the conquest that Ellie will go on, hardships are bound, but her determination will be just as strong as ever, even whennavigating the more dangerous areas. Yet, to survive these areas, it might benefit the player to uncover some secret locations that harbor some amazing loot, whether it’s supplies, weapons, or a fun easter egg.The Last Of UsPart2has many horrors, and a good scavenging could mean the difference between life and death.
Some secret locations inThe Last of UsPart2will require players to explore and think about where they are going. Usually, the right way to go doesn’t always mean it’s the best way to go just yet, so stock up on some supplies and prepare to gethunting for some secrets.
5The Hunting Pistol
Found In A Safe Within A Room Found Through A Crack In The Wall (Abby – Seattle Day 1)
After fighting more than a fair share of Scars in Abby’s Seattle Day 1 chapter “On Foot”, players will eventually come across a building with Manny and Mel. After passing the metal gate, players will want to immediately look to the right to see a crack in the wall. Players can squeeze inside to find a safe as well as some supplies. It’s a small room, with a safe combination code found within a trailer very close to the crack in the wall.
This hidden room can see players unlock the hunting pistol from the safe, which is one of Abby’sbest weapons inThe Last of UsPart2. The hunting pistol can stop enemies in their tracks, and instantly kill them. It’s even capable of killing two enemies at once, piercing multiple targets, and being even better with upgrades.
4Westlake Bank
Found South West In Downtown Seattle, Hug The Left Wall To Enter Through Rubble (Ellie – Seattle Day 1)
The Westlake Bank is one of the optional objectives that players can discover inThe Last of UsPart2. Inside, there are plenty of prizes, including Nathan Drake’s ring in a lockbox. Easter eggs aside, there are a few enemies, and a few supplies that can be found. It’s a fun side objective, albeit a hidden one, in which players will discover the story of a heist gone wrong in the middle of the outbreak.
Even better still, is the fact that players can earn themselves a shotgun for Ellie. This weapon, so early into the game, can be a great weapon that will come in handy during multiple harsh encounters, andinfected and humans alike won’t stand a chanceonce players navigate through the remains of the Westlake Bank.
3The Music Shop
Found In Downtown Seattle, West Building On 5th Avenue (Ellie – Seattle Day 1)
The music shop is not hard to enter, and players can simply walk through the shattered glass window to access it. There’s some nice loot within the music shop, but the real kicker is the guitar that Ellie can find and pluck sitting by an overgrown area of the shop, surrounded by grass and vines. If players approach this area and interact with the guitar, they will be treated to an adoring and emotional cutscene, where Ellie will reminisce on what Joel taught her with the guitar.
It may not provide players with a new gun, but it’s one of the more emotional scenes of the game, andone that is actually secret, considering the music shop is an option venture. Players can play the guitar as freely as they would like, and listen to Ellie sing Take on Me by A-ha.
2Safe On The Ferry
Within The Control Room On The Ferry (Abby – Seattle Day 1)
The Ferry can be a difficult encounter for players, and Abby might struggle to navigate her way through this section of the game. Players will have to sneak their way past hordes of slumbering and dormant infected, from clickers and runners to shamblers, all without an arsenal of weapons to save them. Players will need to navigate past these enemies if they want to try and get to the safe, which is located on the first floor, and it willprovide them with a training manualand some scrap and ammo.
Killing the first lot of infected when entering the ferry, players can find a note that holds the safe code on a ship bed. It’s well worth the fight to get to this safe, as players will have another training manual to open up new skills, even if the fight ahead is dangerous and secretive.
1The Workbench Ambush
Straying from the main path, players will be able to find an overgrown apartment, with seemingly no threats in sight. Despite opening doors and activating a few bottle traps, nobody comes looking, so paranoia is low by the time players reach a high-floor apartment to loot for some supplies. Yet, ifplayers activate the workbench, the previously locked doors found in this apartment will open, and 4 WLF soldiers will ambush Ellie.
It’s a fun secret area and definitely makes players feel unsafe every time they now use a workbench. If players were unaware, they would be shot or grabbed from the workbench, forcing Ellie behind cover and to stop working on her weapons. However, players can just place trip mines at the locked doors, and blow up the WLF soldiers that are dumb enough to try and take Ellie out.
