The film garnered $4M from its Tuesday and Wednesday showings, which means $17.6 poured in from its Thursday showings after 3 pm. The Thursday numbers have put it ahead of other DC projects such asJustice League($13M) andWonder Woman($11M).
Compared to the previous caped crusader live-action films in terms of Thursday showings,The Batmanonly ranks behindThe Dark Knight’s $18.5M,The Dark Knight Rises$30.6M, andBatman v. Superman’s$27.7M. Considering those films were all big sequels or also featured many other iconic heroes, it will be interesting to see whatThe Batman 2can accomplish at the box office.
