The newestTeamfight TacticsSet is out, which is great news for fans of theLeague of LegendsAuto-Battler. The Set is called “Dragonlands,” and there are a lot of new Synergies (both Origins and Classes) to experiment with, especially for those who will soon be experiencing the game for the first timeon Xbox Game Pass.

This Set spent a fair amount of time on the PBE, just like anyTFTSet. However, there are already quite a few Synergies (otherwise known as “Traits”) that are showing how overpowered they are in Ranked. Here are the best Synergies players can keep in mind while they’re trying to climb the rankings inTeamfight Tactics.

8Ragewings: Xayah & Her Guild

The Ragewings must be mentioned first simply because the Xayah comp is incredibly strong at the moment. Previously, Swiftshot + Ragewings gave Xayah as much Attack Speed as possible (can’t slow this one down, Riot), but recently the new trend has been to put more Guilt Units in. This only works because Ragewing the Synergy is full of fantastic units, such as Sett (another strong carry), Swain, Shyvana, and of course Xayah.

All Xayah needs is a Rageblade to start doing work, but throw a Twitch in there (gives bonus Attack Speed), a Talon (bonus Attack Damage), a Sejuani (extra Health), and a Bard (bonus Mana per auto-attack), and Xayah becomes unstoppable.

7Warriors: Yone, Yasuo, or Olaf

Warriors are another Synergy that seems to be sweeping theTFTRankings at the moment. This is primarily because of Olaf, who seems to be an overpowered unit whenever he’s brought back intoTFT. He works in a Warrior Comp, in a Scalescorn Comp, a Bruiser Comp, and is even a great Assassin if a player builds the Emblem. Olaf’s primary team is focused around Bruisers and Assassins (with an Assassin Emblem for Olaf), but these comps only work so well because the Warrior Trait is active, giving Olaf tons of bonus damage on attack.

Other incredibly powerful Warrior units include Yone and Yasuo, both of which easily carry a team. Yone usually needs a Rapidfire Cannon and a good frontline to take off, while Yone just needs Blue Buff or an Infinity Edge.

6Scalescorns: Anti-Tank & Tons Of Bonus Damage

Let’s be honest — people always want to experience the new and shiny thing in any piece of released content. That’s what keeps things exciting. For this reason, Scalescorn is a fantastic Synergy simply because everyone is running Dragons.

Because Scalescorns only get their Trait’s bonuses if there isn’t a Dragon on their field, that means that the Units themselves (except Olaf) are mostly ignored by the rest of the lobby in favor of Units that work well with Dragons. Olaf is of course the standout, but Diana is also a fantastic Unit that completely ruins Attack Speed comps with just a single Frozen Heart.

5Tempests: True Damage & Attack Speed

This next one is a bit of a secret, so don’t go spreading it around, but the Tempest Synergy in Set 7 is one of the most powerful Traits ever added toTFT.Not only is this Trait full of useful units such as the absurdly powerful 1-Cost Unit, Ezreal, but the effects of the Traits are also deceptively strong. When lightning strikes the enemy team 8 seconds into combat, it deals absurd amounts of true damage (up to 45% of their Max HP at 8 Tempests). It also gives the Tempest Units ungodly Attack Speed for the rest of combat.

Because of this, Tempest comps barely need to build any damage. The lightning strike itself often deals more damage than the rest of the team combined.

4Dragonmancers: One Large Unit Please

The Dragonmancer comp is already known to be incredibly strong and fun to use.The “Hero” mechanicfor the Dragonmancers means that players can build one unstoppable unit, and that’s a lot of fun, but it’s not all. Not only does the Hero who is given the “Dragonmancers Blessing” gain bonus Health and AP based on the number of Dragonmancers on the field, it also gets 10% more of both bonuses per star level of each Dragonmancer.

Plus, the “Hero” can easily be switched to a different unit at any point using the Blessing item on the Bench, making this Comp even more versatile than it initially appears.

3Trainers: Infinite Ramping Potential

If a player activates the Trainer Trait early on, it’s incredibly easy to coast while passively snowballing their Nomsy (a newly named Dragon with unexplored lore). It’s possible to win the game without much effort at all, as long as they use the right secondary comp. Traits like Mages, Tempests, and Astrals tend to work best with this comp, as they can easily fill for the empty spots on the team once the player has Heimerdinger, Tristana, and Lulu in play.

That’s right, Trainer only has three Units in it. Because of that, it’s easy to start with a Trainer Comp and then relegate it to the secondary Trait as more and more empty spots open up on the team. Additionally, Nomsy counts as a “Unit” so things like Guild Buffs, Aura Items (such as Zeke’s Herald), or Augments that buff Units without items all buff Nomsy as well.

2Whispers: The Elise Trait

Elise, a Whispers Unit, is right up there with Ragewing Xayah in terms of power. Whispers is an interesting Trait: it simply shreds the Armor and Magic resist of the Champs being attacked by Whispers Units, which can be seen by the Champs visually “shrinking” in size. Out of all the Traits, this is the one that Bel' Veth, the newest Champion, feels like she’d fit the best in. But, the absurd part is that once a Whispers Unit damages a shrunken enemy, they get stacking AD and AP Buffs for the remainder of the Combat. This is where Elise comes in.

Elise is a Shapeshifter, so she already lasts a long time in combat thanks to the Health buff from that Trait, but then her ability comes into play. Her ability Venomous Bite deals a huge chunk of damage, and if it kills the opponent, Elise instantly ascends on a spider web off-screen before dropping onto the lowest Health enemy and instantly using Venomous Bite again. This creates a snowball effect where Elise is spending more time off-screen than on it, and when she is onscreen, she’s one-shotting whoever she lands next to. The rest of the Whispers Units are also fantastic, with Sy' Fen taking a close second behind Elise, but she’s really the star of the show for this Trait.

1Guild: The “Slap Down Anywhere” Synergy

Guild is by far the best “slot anywhere” Synergy of Set 7. Guild Units each provide unique buffs to the entire team when they’re on the field, and Guild Units get double the buff (buff percentage increases as more Guild Units are used). The range of buffs these Units provide is pretty diverse, including:

It’s very easy to throw Twitch into a Ragewing Comp for the bonus Attack Speed, or put Talon in a Bruiser Comp to give them more innate damage. It’s especially easy to throw Bard in on any team because +2 Mana On-Hit is an absurd buff in general. The “Guild” idea and this Medieval Champion concept is a lot of fun and is something fans would love to seeexplored in the eventual MMORPG release, if itever comes out, that is.
