Mario Golf: Super Rushhas now launched for the Nintendo Switch.Mario Golf: Super Rush’s roster ranges from Mario and his friends, to more obscure characters such as King Bob-omb fromSuper Mario 64. However, keen-eyed fans ofSuper Mario Sunshinehave spotted a reference to one of its key items: FLUDD.

FLUDD, which is short for Flash Liquidizer Ultra Dousing Device, was an invention by Professor E. Gadd that was designed for pumping out water. FLUDD made its first appearance inSuper Mario Sunshinefor the GameCube. The device was integral in helping Mario clean up Isle Delfino and simultaneously clear his name for covering the island in graffiti in the first place. Not only could FLUDD spray water to clean up Isle Delfino, it could transform with a variety of nozzles, which allows Mario to hover above the ground, accelerate, or perform high-flying rocket jumps.

FLUDD has also made an appearance as a playable item, having been incorporated as one ofMario’s moves in theSuper Smash Bros.seriessinceBrawl. And now FLUDD has been discovered inMario Golf: Super Rush, the latest sports game based on theSuper Mariofranchise.

While the water pump has made very few appearances afterSunshine, there are manyfans of FLUDD and its functions.Super Mario Sunshineremains a classic to many gamers who had a GameCube, and with this appearance as an Easter Egg fans have expressed the nostalgia they’ve had overSunshine. Some had even hoped that there could be a possible sequel to the title, giving FLUDD another chance to shine again.

For those who might have wanted to check out FLUDD and where they came from, besides the original on the GameCube, there is also the re-release in theSuper Mario 3D All-Starscollection on the Switch. WhileAll-Starsis currently delisted on the eShop, fans can still enjoy this Easter Egg to FLUDD, dutifully guarding the courses in the story mode ofSuper Rush.
