Call of Duty: Warzonehas struggled with bugs and glitches for some time now. While few would describeCall of Duty: Warzone’s launch stable, by any means, the more recent Pacific update has led to a significant increase in technical problems in the battle royale. Some of these issues are frustrating and others yet are entirely unacceptable. Sometimes, however, it’s fun to find aCall of Duty: Warzoneglitch that’s just completely absurd. That accurately describes the newly discovered thumb glitch.
The glitch in question was shared by Reddit user tmac416, who uploaded a video of the glitch they experience mid-game online. It isn’t a complex glitch, by any means. When tmac416 goes to aim down their weapon sights, there’s an obvious object obstructing their view. Upon further inspection, this object has a clear thumbprint. Somehow,Call of Duty: Warzonehas glitchedso that the player’s thumb is in the way of their sight, preventing them from using ADS.

What appears to be happening is a pretty standardCall of Duty: Warzone glitch. As many players have experienced or seen, sometimes textures that are a part of players' character models or weapon models will fragment or displace. The worst-case examples of this see weapons turn intoabstract objects with jutting spikescoming out every direction. This glitch is more understated, displacing a finger texture into the player’s line of sight when they use ADS.
Luckily, this type of glitch is a rare occasion. It’s rather unlikely that another player will ever experience a random thumb sticking in front of their sights. There will still be a possibility of random textures altering a player’s visibility, asRaven Softwareis still actively investigating the problem. But this severity of a problem is very uncommon to see.
The thumb glitch is also very easy to fix, it seems. Picking anotherWarzoneOperatoror restarting the game should clear up any issues tied to a glitched texture or model. That sadly doesn’t help players mid-match, of course. Tmac416 likely had to finish the round without being able to ADS. At least they weren’t forced to resign.
While the glitch is funny to watch, especially since tmac416 took it in stride, it’s also still frustrating forCall of Duty: Warzoneplayers to continue having to deal with these types of glitches. Plus, Raven’s struggles to fix lingering issues and Activision’s shift of focus toward a new version ofWarzoneto accompany the release ofCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.Warzoneplayers could be stuck with their thumbs in their sights until then.
Call of Duty: Warzoneis available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
