On Reddit, a user named reddit-0-tidder documented their discovery of an active volcano on the r/Starfield subreddit. The OP stated that this volcano was discovered on a hill on the planet Marduk IV, at a place called The Lone Hill. In four screenshots, the hill was surrounded by plants and dark-colored rocks, with the glow of the lava serving as a sharp contrast to the nearby environment. The middle of the lava pool had a rock and some resilient plants still emerging from beneath, which is a testament to the random nature of planetary discoveries. Even though Starfieldplayers have madediscoveries during different playthroughs, some of the comments in the OP’s post said that they had not discovered any sort of volcanoes on Marduk IV and complimented the OP for their find.

Compared to other players’discoveries of alien hatcheries inStarfieldor other unusual phenomena on uncharted planets, the discovery of a volcano may not seem as notable at first glance. According to feedback from other players, though, it’s quite interesting, as normally either water or toxic sludge has a chance to appear on The Lone Hill instead of the lava that the OP saw. In addition to the discovery, the OP wondered what to name the volcano that they found on Marduk IV. In response, someStarfieldplayers suggested “The High Ground” as a reference toStar Wars Episode 3: Revenge of the Sithand an infamous line that was spoken by Obi-Wan Kenobi during the film.

ThoughStarfieldremains divisive among gamers, it continues to set milestones even months after release. It will be interesting to see what Bethesda’s plans are forStarfieldheading into 2024.
