Marriage is a beautiful thing, and players can find their life partner inStarfieldthanks to one of the romance options available. Relationships inStarfieldaren’t just about waking up in the same bed, and casually flirting in themidst of a space pirate invasion. Players can actually grow their relationships naturally as they play the game and impress their companions with their morality and sense of judgment, to eventually ask them for their hand in marriage.

However, if players just aren’t feeling it, and no longer wish to know that they can get married inStarfield, then they can in fact end their relationship. Players can divorce their Spouse inStarfield, although it’s not the most comforting nor fun activity to do, especially if done directly after the wedding ceremony.
Who Can Be Married?
Only four characters inStarfieldcan be married, and players can find these relationships with Sarah Morgan, Sam Coe, Barrett, and Andreja. Players do not need to worry about their background, traits, allegiance, or gender, as each of these characters is romanceable no matter the circumstance.
Players can enter into a commitment with one of these characters if they so choose it, but there might be a lengthy road to take if players want toenter into a marriage commitmentwith another character. The first step is to make one of these companions an active follower.
Do Things The Companion Likes
Now that the character that players want to marry inStarfieldis the chosen follower, players simply need to complete quests and activities with them. This will create a bond with the character, in which they will share in adventure, and see how the player resolves situations. Each character likes different things, sosome characters may prefer a diplomatic approach, whereas others prefer justice to be given no matter the cost.
It’s important to listen to the companion, and complete dialogue options or actions in which they will see ‘Sarah Morgan liked that.’ If players see ‘Sarah Morgan disliked that.’, it’sbest to reload a saveand try a different approach, as it will lower the relationship meter. One thing to consider, players should try and avoid murdering innocent NPCs, as most followers will reject players for their crimes. The goal of getting the approval of the potential partner is so that they will want to talk to the player about their actions and their time spent together, even if they don’t see it in a romantic way just yet.
Choose Every Flirt Option
After spending time with the chosen companion, players will receive an activity to talk to them. This can also be reconfirmed by the fact that the NPC will ask for a moment of the player’s time to talk. In doing so, players will receive a conversation option, in which they can discuss matters with their partner to turn them from Constellation co-workers to friends, to life partners. It’s vitally important that within these dialogue options, players select the [Flirt] option when it is available.

Perhaps every conversation won’t have the [Flirt] option, but when they do, it’s best to select it, even if the character at hand rejects the player initially, or seems somewhat shocked or awkward about the player’s chosen words. It’s important for the NPC to know that the player is interested, and caring of their words.
Complete The Relationship Mission
After around 5 or so conversation activities, the chosen character will see the player as a close friend, and one with whom they can share their secret. This secret enables each character to embark on a special relationship quest, that can be about romance or simply helping out a friend. Either way, each of the 4 romance options inStarfieldhas one of these quests.
Upon completing the quest, players can once againchoose to [Flirt] with the character, and from here, they can seal the deal whether they want to choose to become an Ally, a formal dating partner for them, or a good friend. After this, a final conversation will emerge in which the player can choose between [Friendship] or [Romance].
Travel Together
Now that the romance option has been fulfilled, players can just carry on their adventures through space, enjoying the exploration available inStarfieldalongside their new romanced companion. Now, the only thing left to do is travel together, and within a few in-game hours and days, the character will want to speak to the player once again about their relationship.

From here, players can enter into a commitment, which will give the character some time to prepare for this proposal. After the proposal has been acted upon, players just have to wait some more time for the mission to emerge, in which the Commitment Quest will begin.
Complete The Commitment Quest
When the character is ready to talk, the Commitment Quest can begin, in which the player and their romanced partner will share their life together, and fulfill their desires to marry. ThisStarfieldCommitment Quest can take players to different destinations depending on the character. Players can also choose who comes to the wedding, as some characters prefer a more intimate setting that just includes the two of them and the officiant, whereas others want a parent or friend to witness the marriage.
No matter what the player chooses, they can begin their journey to the chosen destination to start the marriage. Luckily, it’s not likeSkyrimin which the player’s partner can be killed by a rogue frost troll, and they can’t miss their own wedding, Players simply need to follow the dialogue options available to them to confirm their commitment, and enter into a marriage inStarfield, and also receive a wedding gift from their chosen partner.
What Are The Perks Of Being Married?
Now that players have asked how to get Married inStarfield, they might want to know what the perks of being married are. To start, the player’s Spouse will find and gift items more regularly to the player. They will also alwayssleep in the same bed as the player, providing an extra sense of warmth and comfort in the endless cold abyss of space and wonder.
These benefits may not provide exciting new abilities and profound XP gains, but the fact that the Spouse will speak to the player differently makes these conversations more exciting, especially when the Spouse is included in dialogue options. The Spouse will also smile brightly at the player, indicating their love and approval, making life in space feel less alone and more intimate as theyshare the cosmos together, as one.
There are new dialogue options where players can check in on their Spouse and their relationship. Although there are no cutscenes depicting the characters getting intimate, players who sleep with their Spouse can expect a flirtatious and somewhat raunchy line of dialogue about what they got up to last night.
How To Get Divorced
For some players, they might not be committed to the marriage that they have entered into. They might want to see what the other marriage options are like, or they simply have eyes for someone else. Perhaps a rugged cowboy, or the enigmatic Andreja. Either way, players can get a divorce inStarfieldthrough some simple dialogue options with their Spouse, although, it may be a tad heartbreaking to go through with.
Players can tell their Spouse that they are not happy with their marriage, and they want to end things. This will, of course, break their Spouse’s heart, and they will confess that if they want to end things, they can, but they will need some time to themselves, and they won’t go through this again. This means that if players really do want to end their commitment, then their Spouse will consider the player as an Ally, but also leave as an active follower, as they need some time to themselves to think and grieve for the loss of a relationship.
After this is done, players can pursue other romantic interests, but it’s probably not the best idea to go through every member of Constellation and marry them just to divorce them all, thus leaving a sour work environment among the crew. Players should try and immerse themselves into their virtual relationship, rather than filling the galaxy with hate.
