Summary

Stardew Valley’s Skull Cavern is no joke, and one player who shared their unfortunate experience knows that all too well. AnyStardew Valleyplayer entering the advanced dungeon should prepare for the worst, but chances are many players haven’t had to deal with facing something quite this panic-inducing.

Stardew Valleyfeatures a number of caves and dungeons for players to explore. This starts with the humble mines outside of town, but players can also visit more dangerous and difficult areas, like theSkull Cavern in the Calico Desert, or the Volcano Dungeon on Ginger Island. Each one contains enemies and valuable loot, but as players progress to more difficult areas, they should be careful, especially if this player’s experience is any indication.

Stardew Valleyfan Slim_Pierce13 shared a post on the game’s subreddit with a title that expressed the pure panic they experienced upon having nine Serpents chasing them. Even players withexcellentStardew Valleyequipment and weaponswould likely feel worried coming across this many enemies, as this enemy moves quickly and can deal a fair amount of damage in a short amount of time, even when there aren’t nine of them attacking at once.

Luckily for Slim_Pierce13, they managed to survive the encounter, likely thanks to the ladder seen in the screenshot and the speed buff they had in place. One player pointed out that Slim_Pierce13 should have waited for a lucky day, but as it turns out, it actually was one, further adding hilarity to the situation. Slim_Pierce13 noted that this happened while they wereplayingStardew Valleyin split-screenwith their wife, so while they were running around in a panic in the Skull Cavern, their wife was laughing at their plight while safe elsewhere.

Stardew Valley’s Combat Can Be Challenging

Stardew Valley’s may not be centered around combat, but there are plenty of opportunities for the player to focus on it if they so choose. The game is filled with many enemies to fight, and some of the best items inStardew Valleyare hidden in dangerous areas that require combat prowess to survive. Players who can’t get enough of fighting can even turn on monsters spawning on their farm, which can throw challenges at them from the moment they step out their front door.

It remains to be seen how muchdeveloper ConcernedApe’s next gamefocuses on combat. Players are eagerly awaiting more information about the game, but as the current title keeps drawing the developer back to release things likeStardew Valley’s 1.6 update, it’s unclear just how long players will be waiting before the game is in their hands.
