Summary
Star Wars Outlawsrevealed a surprising amount of gameplay at the time of its announcement and reveal, but still not much is known about the game’s narrative. However, it seems like Kay’s struggles will be what progresses the game in terms of where players must travel to and who they must bargain with or flee from. The little that has been shown hopefully discerns the game as an original title likeStar Wars Jedi’sFallen OrderandSurvivor, though there are clearStar Warscenterpieces in place thatStar Wars Outlawswas either unable or neglecting to shake.
One such centerpiece is the commonly recurring desert planet of Tatooine. Stories set there aren’t tapped by any means, but the locale has been revisited so often inStar Warsthat it bears redundancy for the sake of familiarity. Knowing thatKay Vess can work for Jabba the Huttmakes Tatooine much more intriguing, even if it too nestles into familiar iconography. Rather,Outlawstaking place betweenThe Empire Strikes BackandReturn of the Jedimeans that Boba Fett, a highly respected bounty hunter from the original trilogy, could finally receive the heyday he deserved in that era.

Boba Fett Could Be Star Wars Outlaws’ Take on Star Wars Jedi’s Darth Vader
Boba has an interesting connection toStar Warsfandom considering how little screen time he has in the original trilogy. His alleged death was perhaps the most memorable thing about him at the time when it appeared as if he had been consumed by a sarlacc, but his survival was confirmed much later on and a standalone Disney Plus series chronicled what he was up to between the original and sequel trilogies.
Boba’s most revered interpretation was within the original trilogy, though, and most likely because of how little screen time he had. This way, fans could fill in those gaps with their own imagination as to why he may be such a feared bounty hunter, who was incredibly enigmatic and only spared several lines of dialogue in his original appearances. The character’s popularity far surpassed that of what he amounted to, butStar Wars Outlawshas a rare opportunity now to depict him precisely how fans remember him.
Star Wars Jedihas now made it a pattern to include Darth Vaderon the player’s path, and while these instances obviously prey on fans’ nostalgia for iconic characters, Respawn made an effort both times to weave him into the games’ events naturally. Taking this as an inspired direction, it would be fantastic to see Boba appear on Tatooine or elsewhere as a boss that players were not expecting to encounter.
to make Boba an imposing boss, he could fly around the arena on his jetpack while firing missiles at Kay. This encounter could even stretch into a dogfight in space considering howOutlawsfeatures starship combat. This could make it wholly unique apart fromStar Wars Jedi, which did put a bunch of emphasis on bounty hunter outings, both with Cal enjoying his own bounty hunting and faring againstFallen Order’s Haxion Brood.
But because it’s been confirmed that players can betray Jabba, for example, this gives Ubisoft a chance to have Boba pursue Kay if they do so, and maybe he only shows up as a consequence of that action as a result. That said, fleeing from bounty hunters seems like a no-brainer inOutlaws’GTA-inspired reputation system, and Boba could easily be the most intimidating threat to flee from if he is portrayed as an indomitable enemy.
