The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrimmight be over a decade old at this point, but the game’s popularity remains high. The title has most recently appeared on the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S when Bethesda released theSkyrim Anniversary Edition. While the world has been explored countless times, this hasn’t stopped players from exploiting various bugs found within the aging RPG.

One such exploit revolves around Grelod the Kind, an elderly woman inSkryimwho runs the Honorhall Orphanage in Riften. A missionpresented to the Dragonbornthroughout the game’s story is to eliminate her for terrorizing the kids that she is employed to protect. AsElder Scrolls Vlets players determine the approach taken for this task, players will often choose a more direct approach. This will often draw the attention of nearby guards, meaning players must assess the situation carefully or risk being attacked.

To this end, one player has found an interesting way of eliminating NPCs without causing suspicion. Posting a video to theSkyrimSubreddit, Walter-fring manages to kill Grelod simply by dropping several weapons on the NPC. The clip shows the player jumping and quickly opening the inventory and from here, selecting numerous large items that are then dropped on Grelod, killing her instantly.

Despite being in full view of the incident, a guard who witnessed the event instead hilariously warns of the dangers of leaving weapons lying around. After apologizing to one ofSkyrim’s most oblivious NPCs, the player is sent on their way with no repercussions of the crime to answer for.

The Redditor goes on to note that the kill is achieved because any in-game items are programmed to cause damage. The amount of damage depends on how much momentum is gained before it hits anyone. As Grelod’s HP is so low, it only requires the slightest touch from a few items to finish her off. This method didn’t appear to affect the player’slatest playthrough ofSkyrimas they are attempting a pacifist run where no kills are officially recorded.Thistrick makes the feat of seeing off Grelod all the more impressive.

Skyrimhas been a popular RPG since it was released in 2011, and with players still finding new tricks, it’s almost certain that there will be more fun quirks to be uncovered in the future. With Bethesda currently working on thelong-awaitedElder Scrolls VI, players are hoping that they can approach the new game with the same levels of freedom.
