In a new set of tweets from Midori, she clarified that theJet Set RadioandCrazy Taxiremakes are being developed with most of the original staffand that these remakes are being developed using Unreal Engine 5. These remakes are supposedly slated to release before the Games-as-a-Service style reboots that she previously leaked. The remakes are also planned to be very similar to the original games but will have new features, such as multiplayer for theCrazy Taxiremake. There is also cosmetic day-one DLC planned for these remakes, but there are no expansion passes planned. Midori also noted that these titles shouldn’t be confused with the aforementioned live service reboots.

Jet Set Radio and Crazy Taxi Plans According to Midori

Midori also revealed some of the setbacks and release plans that Sega had for these titles, stating thattheCrazy TaxiandJet Set Radiorevivalshad previously been delayed twice, which included the original release dates. She also disclosed that the previous plan was for theJet Set Radioremake and reboot to be released in 2026, with theCrazy Taxirevival releasing sometime in 2027. Midori also stated that theGolden Axerevival was supposed to be released as an individual title last year, as marketing materials had been made for it, but these plans obviously changed as well.
