The firstSteam Decks should arrive in the hands of consumers by February 28, which is now only a few days away. One user browsing theSteam Deckwebsite noticed that there was a new accessory added to the hardware section, the user was, luckily, able to upload the page to a web archive before it was swiftly removed by Valve.
While the Steam Deck is set to release in a few days, Valve noted that the device’s dock would not ship alongside the handheld gaming PC. This disappointed some fans of the device, as gamers may have to purchase a USB-C hub in the meantime if they wish to charge the device and connect it to a larger screen at the same time. Valve is yet to officially announce a release date for the portable device dock, however, one user browsing the website came across information about the dock releasing in Spring of this year.

The dock’s section of the website was quickly removed by Valve, but not before it was saved on a web archive. At this point, it is unsure as to why Valve removed the information about the accessory, although it is possible that the company is either waiting to make an official announcement or that the dock’s release date could stretch past Spring 2022.
While theSteam Deck’s dock does not improve the performance of the system, it is an important accessory for the handheld. The dock acts as a housing for the handheld, while also offering multiple ports for controllers or other USB devices to be connected.
The dock will also solve the issue of theSteam Deck’s battery depleting much faster when a game’s FPS is not capped. The dock will allow users to push the limits of the Steam Deck’s hardware without them having to worry about reaching for the charging cable after draining its battery too quickly.
In other news relating to the device,Steam users will now be able to check their game’s compatibility with the Steam Deck. This will be a useful tool, as Steam users will be able to see whether the device is a viable option for them or not, based on its compatibility with their Steam library.
Compatibility should not be too much of a worry for users though, as theSteam Deck’s library continues to growat a rapid rate. Users will soon be able to enjoy 726 compatible games on their Steam Decks when the device eventually ships.
