ASonic the Hedgehogcollection may be on the way. The same website that recently listed aSonic Colors Remasterappears to have leakedSonic Collectionfor the PlayStation 4, and while this information is not officially confirmed, speculation is getting interesting.
TheSonicseries is one that is often surrounded by leaks and rumors, including arecentSonic Adventure Remakerumor. The most recent whispers appear to involve a collection of the original Sega GenesisSonictitles. If true, the collection would likely pull at the heartstrings ofSonic the Hedgehogenthusiasts.

In early April, the website Sogamely listedSonic Colors Ultimate, and other outlets reported on thepossibility of aSonic Colors Remaster. Now Sogamely has listed theSonic CollectionEU version. There are no details beyond that, but there have been plenty of other rumors revolving around Sega’s beloved mascot, so it is possible to put together a guess as to what this collection could be.
A known insider and leaker who goes by “Zippo” recently shared thatSonic the Hedgehog 3andSonic and Knuckleswould be getting re-releases soon. The theory is thatSonic 3andSonic and Knuckleswould be packaged in with the originalSonic the HedgehogandSonic the Hedgehog 2in this collection. For now this is all conjecture, as information has come in piecemeal from various locations.
The other interesting aspect of the latest tidbit is that theSonic Collectionis marked only as a PS4 game on by Sogamely. It is likely that if aSonic the Hedgehoggame such as this is real, it will not be on PS4 alone, since Sega has also previously released titles on Xbox and Nintendo Switch. Whether or not the game makes the jump to PS5 and Xbox Series X/|S is another question.
TheSonicseries has certainly had its ups and downs, but right now it appears to be on the mend.Sonic Maniawas one of the better-received games in the series, and its early games are still where many fans find nostalgia, which is why it could be wise for Sega to release some sort of collection.
Manyfans are interested in what Sega will show at E3 2021this year. The best-case scenario would likely be a mix of new game announcements and fanfare reveals for classic collections, such as this rumoredSonic Collection.None of this is confirmed at this point, so it should be taken with a grain of salt. However, it is certainly fair to hope for an announcement related toSonic the Hedgehogin the near future.
