After a number of subtle hints and teases over the past week, it appears that the previously console exclusiveMortal Kombat XLmay be finally headed to PC players as well.

While proving to be amassive success on consoles,Mortal Kombat Xnever really seemed to find its footing on PC thanks to a variety of issues that hurt the overall experience for players. The news got worse for PC fans as a definitive version of the game, known asMortal Kombat XL, was announced exclusively for consoles, which also included therecently revealed Kombat Pack 2. After many months of silence, though, it is starting to look like PC players may finally seeXLon their platform of choice.

The biggest clue comes from NetherRealm creative director Ed Boon. While the man is known for trolling fans, Boon recently posted an interesting image of a PC motherboard and a strange message to go with it. While the phrase, “Maybe we should Karry eXtra Long People who Care?,” doesn’t make too much sense by itself, picking out the capital letters leaves behind MKXL PC. Could this be a subtle but strong hint that the previously console exclusiveMortal Kombat XLcontent is coming to PC as well?

In addition, the tweet followed a poll that was recently run asking fans if they even still wanted to see the XL version arrive on PC. As expected, fans responded favorably to the question, indicating that interest is still there.

The conspiracy runs deeper, however, as many fans have come across a hidden app that is linked toMortal Kombat Xon Steam. Known simply as SteamDB Unknown App 471210, the app has seen a number of updates along with a name change toMKXL Enhanced Online Beta. When combined with the Tweets from Ed Boon, it would appear that a PC announcement is indeed in the cards.

While it’s unclear at this point what tookMortal Kombat XLso long to make the jump to PC, perhaps the extra time was used to ensure a smooth launch this time around. WhenMortal Kombat Xfirst launched, the PC version was plagued by a variety of issues such as crashing, online connectivity problems, and a nasty bug that actuallyerased player save data. While numerous patches improved the situation, players felt like Warner Bros and NetherRealm abandoned the platform once Kombat Pack 2, the online play enhancements, and theXL version of the gamewere announced for the console editions only.
