2017 marks the 30th anniversary ofFinal Fantasyand a new rumor suggests Square Enix will be celebrating with the first episode ofFinal Fantasy VII: Remakeand lots more.
In late 1987 the originalFinal Fantasyreleased in Japan and kicked off one of the most epic RPG franchises of all-time. It has been 29 years since the launch of the first installment and fans are still busy exploring the latest adventure inFinal Fantasy 15. According to a recent leak, there will be even more celebrating in 2017 as Square Enix starts the official 30th anniversary party.
Sources atvgleakssuggest that Square Enix has a very ambitious line of products coming in the next year. These reports have not been confirmed by Square yet (nor does vgleaks share its source), so take this info with a heavy dose of salt. For the mainFinal Fantasyreleases in 2017, the source claims thatSquare Enixwill launch theFinal Fantasy VII: Remake(first episode) andFinal Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age.

That is already a lot more excitement thanFinal Fantasyfans are used to receiving in one year, but the report suggests that is just the time of the iceberg. The rumor goes on to suggest that Square Enix will also release theFinal Fantasy XIIItrilogyon PS4 in 2017.
“The bundle will includeFinal Fantasy XIII, XIII-2andLightning Returnson separate discs to be enjoined in 1080p and 60fps.”
As if that’s not enough, the rumor also claims that there will be aFinal Fantasy 30th Anniversary Collectionreleased in 2017 for PS4 and PS Vita.
