With full access to dozens of games for a fairly low monthly subscription, Xbox Game Pass is one of the best deals in gaming these days, but the service is not without some downsides. One of the biggest is the fact thatseveral titles are eventually removed from Xbox Game Passto make way for newer ones. A lot of players have had to part with some of their favorite games as a result, but word on the street is that one such title,Devil May Cry 5, may be coming back.

Given how many top-tier games have left the service, Xbox users were intrigued earlier this month, when Microsoftteased that it was bringing a popular game back to Xbox Game Pass. However, the identity of this game was left a mystery, leaving Xbox owners to speculate as to what it could be for the last couple of weeks.

As for why it might beDevil May Cry 5, which was removed from Xbox Game Pass last August, evidence has recently emerged claiming that Capcom’s popular hack-and-slash title recently reappeared on the service. Specifically, Twitter user ReForce shared an image showingDMC 5inside the xCloud Streaming Preview library for users in Mexico.

Elaborating further on Reddit, ReForce stressed that they’re certain this is proof of the game’s imminent return. The reason being, they explained, is that something similar happened with the Bandai Namco action-RPGCode Vein, in that it too was listed on xCloud before being added to Game Pass a few weeks later. If ReForce is correct in this assumption, andDevil May Cry 5is in fact being set up for a second run on the service, this suggests that fans might see it back on Game Pass as soon as next month, if not sooner.

This isn’t substantial proof that it’sDMC 5just yet, of course, so for all anyone knows, there’s achance that another popular game likeFallout 4might return to Game Passinstead. That said,DMC 5is a strong possibility. Aside from being one of the most highly-acclaimed action games of the last two years, it received fresh exposure with the release ofDevil May Cry 5: Special Edition, which launched alongside the Xbox Series X last November and introduced a slew of new features and next-gen optimizations.

Judging from the image ReForce shared, this probably isn’t the version that might appear on Game Pass, since the listing appeared to show theoriginal version ofDMC 5. Still, with how popularDMC 5is among action game fans, even the base game would be a welcome addition to the service’s affordable library of titles once more.

Devil May Cry 5is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
