With the popular Adult Swim cartoonRick and Morty’s third season slated for a release date this summer, it looks as if the show’s creators have been working on a plethora ofcross-promotional wares for video gamesto advertise the program’s next run of shows, with several titles such asRocket Leaguereceiving content based on the animated series. Not only will Psyonix’s vehicular soccer video game be getting content based on the cartoon, but also the likes ofGang Beasts,Move or Die, andSteam VR Homehave been tapped to get assets dedicated to the Adult Swim show as well.
For starters,Rocket Leagueis set to receive free antennas based on Rick, Morty, the floating head Cromulon, Mr. Meeseeks, and the show’s most lovable scamp, Mr. Poopy Butthole. These materials will be available starting on Jun 03, 2025, along with a special rocket boost and some wheels inspired by the intergalactic portal from the cartoon that can be obtained through different loot drops.
As far as the multiplayer favorite gamesMove or DieandGang Beastsare concerned, both will feature cameos from the cast ofRick and Mortyby way of free skins. As of now, the skins forMove or Dieare currently available with Rick, Morty, Mr. Meeseeks, Krombopulous Michael, and Birdperson being offered, while the skins forGang Beastshave yet to make their way into the game and lack a date of availability.
Finally,Steam VR Homewill also be giving fans ofRick and Mortya free piece of content, with a Mr. Meeseeks character available to add to the game’s virtual residence. Of course, should one want to experience the show’s characters in virtual reality, they can also do so by way ofRick and Morty: Virtual Rick-ality, which had its release date earlier this year on marijuana enthusiasts' favorite holiday – 4/20.
All things considered, it looks likeRick and Mortyis set to be highly visible this summer with plenty of marketing being done for the show’s next season. With any luck, fans will not only enjoy all of the free wares being given in the aforementioned games, but also the cartoon’s creators will announce Season 3’s start date soon.
