How to Beat Krauser in Chapter 11 of the Resident Evil 4 Remake
Positioned as an early appetizer of what’s to come, players will clash with Krauser after meeting him during Chapter 11 along with Luis. With parrying an important aspect of this fight, be sure to grab the Boot Knife right in front of the starting position as a backup.
The entirety of the fight is quite straightforward,use any opportunity that presents itself to slash at Krauser, taking note of when he counterattacks, andparry those strikes. This will open the boss up to a free melee hit after he’s stunned. To help get the precise timing down, be sure to take note of the knife symbol in the bottom right of the screen, which will denote the best time for a perfect parry that will stun Krauser.
Krauser will also attempt to grab Leon, and if players have the spare health, there is always the option to button-mash to safety rather than reduce the durability of the knife. Keep it up, and Krauser will retreat for the real fight in Chapter 14.
How to Beat Krauser in Chapter 14 of the Resident Evil 4 Remake
Here’s where the real fun begins when it comes to Krauser. However, before actually facing the man, players will have to make their way through a dangerous gauntlet.
Fighting Krauser in the Ruins
At the start, Krauser will attempt to pin players down, soavoid his laser sight by hiding behind the structuresaround. Once he has missed the shot, use alonger-range weapon like the rifleto make him pay.
With enough damage done, Krauser will leave his vantage point and engage up close. Once more, remember toparry and counterattack whenever possible, and when he leaves to use his firearms, dodge behind the debris to keep safe. The main fighting part ends when the boss throws a flash grenade.
After climbing up and turning the yellow wheel, players will be faced with a trap-filled section thatincludes bear traps, mines, and even turrets. Players must be sure to watch their step as they make their way up the ruins and watch out for Krauser, who will attempt to attack intermittently. If Leon grabbed, be sure to mash the buttons to conserve health.
Eventually, the path will lead to an open area with a Red Herb and a box. This is where Krauser will return with his laser sight, so avoid them and attempt to damage him. At the entrance just below Krauser,simply run straight through to avoid the grenades he will throw down as a welcome present.
Once players are through the gate, Krauser will return for a combination of a knife and gunfire fight, so remember the lessons from before, likemaintaining durability, and Leon should be safe. Do note the various mines around; be sure not to accidentally evade into one. With enough damage done, Leon will fall through the floor, and the final battle begins.
Fighting Krauser in the arena
Showing his true form, the gist of the fight against Krauser remains the same, except this time, players will beparrying the mutated arm attacks instead. It is highly recommended to use ahigh-damage weapon like the Shotgunduring the fight to keep the pressure up in between parries.
The aggressiveness of Krauser will require good timing with the parries, and when he is guarding his body with the mutated arm, do not waste ammo by shooting, and instead take the time to recover.When he is stunned, whip out the Shotgun or even the Magnum and damage the boss. Krauser will also attempt a devastating slam by jumping from a height in the arena, but this attack can be avoided if players get to the furthest edge or climb the ladders to get some elevation. Onhigher difficulty modes, the former is the best way to stave off any damage.
Fight smartly and aggressively, and Krauser will be defeated eventually. His demise will reward players with the Fighting Knife, as well as the trophy or achievement for defeating him.
