For those wondering whether the upcoming remake ofResident Evil 4will bring back one of the series' most infamous villains, it looks as though fans will get to see Albert Wesker once more, according to a recent cast list. Going down asone of the bestResident Evilgames of all time, the fourth entry originally released in 2005 and took things in a new direction. Ditching the fixed camera angles and leaning more towards action, this installment distanced itself from its predecessors, with praiseworthy results.

Given the accolades, it’s not surprising that Capcom is keen to reprise the game with an official remake, similar to how it remade the earlier titles. With promises thatResident Evil 4will keep the divisive island sectionand remain faithful to the original story but with a modern take, many are looking forward to this classicREgame making a comeback. With it set to launch on March 24, there isn’t too long to wait, but in the meantime, there’s been word about the franchise’s most notable bad guy returning for the remake.

A cast list over on IMDB shows thatResident Evil 4will feature Albert Wesker, with the website showing that Connor Fogarty will be voicing the character. Wesker has had a number of voice actors over the years, for both the English and Japanese translations of the games, with Fogarty taking on the role for the villain’s appearance inDead by Daylight. In the originalRE4, Wesker only really appears in the Mercenaries mode of the game, so it will be interesting to see in what context Capcom will bring him back for the remake.

Those who have played the series, particularly the older ones, know thatAlbert Wesker is one ofResident Evil’s most famous antagonists. Going all the way back to the original game from 1996, he eventually revealed himself to be a traitor working against the STARS team to sell the Tyrant to a company that rivals the game’s notorious Umbrella corporation. His distinctive look and B-movie dialog has made him a mainstay bad guy in the series.

With theRE4remake being made, the trend of modernizing classicResident Evilgames continues. Many may be wondering whetherResident Evil 5and6could also get remakes, and while there’s no way to tell for sure, it wouldn’t be too far-fetched to assume that Capcom has plans for the later entries in its long-running survival franchise.
