Fans have spent the last few years of the game’s single-player and multiplayer modesexperimenting withRed Dead Redemption 2’s cosmeticsand mods.Red Dead Online’s customizations are not abundant, but fans have been entertained by attempting to manifest characters from other franchises. Using cosmetics from eitherRed Dead Redemption 2orRed Dead Online, an inspired fan has been able to create a makeshift costume based upon an iconic superhero.

Blue_Moon_Cheese has recently shared their iteration of Spider-Man inRed Dead Online. The fan’s Spider-Man is comprised of an Executioner’s Mask and a red Union shirt with blue suspenders. Dark pants, boots, and gloves complete the look, with a lasso mimicking Spider-Man’s webbing. Of course, the fan’s creation could not perfectly emulate Spider-Man’s traditional costume. But what the player lacks in webbing patterns and other Spider-Man signifiers, they make up in dramatic action poses.

The fan shares screenshot poses of their Spider-Man leaping from Blackwater Grand Theater with their lasso thrown, imitating Spider-Man’s web-swinging. This mid-air pose for aRed Dead Onlinecharacter is unnatural, and most likely led to the character’s in-game death. But it works well as a Spider-Man silhouette nonetheless.Red Dead Redemption 2’s lasso mechanic further imitates Spider-Man’s webbing in a screenshot where the player has lassoed an NPC from a distance while on top of a shuttle carriage.

Interestingly, a fan points out that there is in fact a Spider-Man who belongs to the Wild West era, named Patrick O’Hara. O’Hara’s outlaw Spider-Man bears a striking resemblance to ordinaryRed Dead Onlinecharacters, and even wears a bandana face mask, a fedora hat, and wields revolvers. It may be simpler for fans to iterate O’Hara’s Spider-Man design, but Blue_Moon_Cheese’s work demonstrates a level of effort that requires the right articles ofclothing fromRed Dead Redemption 2and an eye for the superhero’s action poses.

Rather, even though the player’s makeshift costume is an imperfect version of Spider-Man’s classic outfit, the player’s outfit emulates the Wrestler Suit featured inMarvel’s Spider-Man. Fans also wish a brown paper bag cosmetic was available, so that players could emulate Spider-Man’s Bombastic Bag-Man costume. Either way, Blue_Moon_Cheese’s Spider-Man may perhaps give fans theinspiration to playRed Dead OnlineorRed Dead Redemption 2and roleplay as the web-slinger.
