When it comes to expanding the roster,Battle for the Gridhas no shortage of characters to draw on. EvenChun-Li recently became a Power Ranger in a seperate game, opening the door to crossovers similar to whatMortal Kombatnow does on the regular. The next three fighters for Season 3 ofBattle for the Gridhave just been announced by trailer. The new DLC fighters are: Robert “RJ” James, the Jungle Fury Wolf Ranger, Lauren Shiba, the second Super Samurai Red Ranger, and a mystery villain.
Despite no official reveal, the identity of the shadowy third figure in the trailer has been guessed by fans. Judging by the silhouette and laugh, most guess she is Scorpina, a villain from the originalMighty Morphin Power Rangers. She was known to fight alongside Goldar, anotherMighty Morphinmonster, and was very powerful in her own right. How these three will affect theofficial Battle for the Grid eSport leaguehas yet to be determined, and there is no gameplay to base speculation on at this time.
Hopefully gameplay for the new characters will be coming soon. Since manyRangers can use Megazord special attacks as part of their moveset, it will be interesting to see if Scorpina can utilize her giant scorpion form. Fans will find out sooner rather than later.
Power Rangers: Battle for the Gridis available for PC, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One, with a Stadia version also in development.
