A brand newPokemonhas just been revealed forPokemon Ultra SunandPokemon Ultra Moon. Introducing Zeraora, a Mythical Pokemon with a starring role in the upcomingPokemon the Movie: Everyone’s Storyfilm. Plans to make Zeraora available in-game have yet to be revealed, but a distribution event for the Mythical Pokemon is expected to be announced soon and will likely be exclusive toPokemon Ultra SunandPokemon UltraMoon.

Zeraora is an Electric-type Mythical Pokemon with a bipedal cat-like appearance. It emits strong electrical currents from the pads on its paws, creating a powerful magnetic field. This magnetic field allows it to both levitate and run with extreme speed, accurately described as lightning quick. Its nickname, the Thunderclap Pokemon, should be self-explanatory: if you hear a thunderclap and there isn’t a cloud in the sky, it might be a Zeraora passing by.

Details on Zeraora’s abilities are still forthcoming, but its passive was revealed as part of a Japanese morning show named Oha Suta. Volt Absorb will heal Zeraora for 25% of its maximum health for every Electric ability used to hit it, with no effects going through.

While the official announcement of Zeraora is entirely new, thePokemonitself has been known to the games' community for quite some time.Zeraorahas been included withinPokemon Ultra SunandMoon’s data for several months now but has yet to be released. Dataminers discovered thePokemonaround five months ago, along with several other newPokemonthat debuted with theUltrareleases ofPokemon SunandMoon.

Zeraora’s debut has finally arrived, forced into the open due to its inclusion in the forthcomingPokemonmovie,Pokemon the Movie: Everyone’s Story. The Pokemon movies don’t typically receive wide distribution in the West, but with the Japanese release coming up in June and marketing starting to accelerate, Zeraora couldn’t be kept secret any longer.

For the debut of aMythical Pokemon, it may be a bit underwhelming. But forPokemoncollectors who know they’ll soon have access to a cool new Mythical Pokemon, how it’s debuted matters much less than when and how it’ll be available for distribution. Stay tuned for more information in that regard soon.

Pokemon Ultra SunandPokemon Ultra Moonare both currently available exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS.
