The officialPokemonTwitter account has started teasing some kind of announcement relating to a strange treasure chest image, with a potential reveal happening as early as Sunday, November 6 at 6am PT.Pokemon Scarlet and Violetare merely two weeks away from release, and so it’s entirely possible that this tease is related to the new games. The question is if the tease is for a new Pokemon reveal or something else entirely.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violethave revealed a handful of new Pokemon that will be featured in the new games, but leaks have indicated that a lot more will be featured in the final products. According to leakers,Pokemon Scarlet and Violethave over 100 new Pokemonon the way, yet only a fraction of those have been revealed to date. These Pokemon have typically been revealed in trailers with other Pokemon, but sometimes they’ve been given special treatment.

This was the case with Bellibolt, an Electric-type Pokemon that will be making its debut inPokemon Scarlet and Violet, and it seems to be the case with some new Pokemon relating to a treasure chest. The officialPokemonTwitter has made a post showing a treasure chest with a time listed of 6:00am PT. Clicking on the link takes fans to a page where they can cycle through the different views of the treasure chest. While it’s likely that the treasure chest is related toPokemon Scarlet and Violet, that has not actually been confirmed at the time of this writing, and so fans should keep that in mind.
The leading theory is that this treasure chest is tied to theleaked coin Pokemonthat will supposedly be inPokemon Scarlet and Violet. For the uninitiated, reputablePokemonleakers have said that a coin-based Pokemon is going to be debuting inPokemon Scarlet and Violet. This leak gained considerable credibility when aPokemon GOdata mine revealed a new grey bug-like Pokemon that with a coin on its back.
Since the Pokemon was found inPokemon GOupdate files, it’s possible that it is coming to Niantic’s game and won’t even appear inPokemon Scarlet and Violet. Alternatively, it could be part of a special promotion betweenPokemon GOandPokemon Scarlet and Violet, similarly to howMeltan was featured in thePokemon Let’s Gogames. Whatever the case may be,Pokemonfans should have more answers tomorrow morning.
