Like in the mainline games, there are plenty of Shiny hunters inPokemon GO. These players search for Pokemon with different color palettes than their usual ones to collect them. Since these Pokemon are much rarer than their normal counterparts, they are in very high demand.
While there are no stat differences when comparing normal Pokemon to Shiny Pokemon, their fans are still very passionate about them. However, unlike the mainline games, Shiny forms of Pokemon aren’t released alonside their normal counterpart inPokemon GO.Instead, they are often released in small amounts during certain events.

In most cases, there is no way to guarantee a Shiny Pokemon to spawn for players. However, The following Pokemon cannot be found as a Shiny Pokemon no matter what players do in-game, as of August 2021.
Missing Shiny Johto Pokemon
Luckily for Shiny hunters, all of the Pokemon from the Kanto region have their Shiny forms implemented intoPokemon GOfor players to find one way or another. This means that the first of the missing Shiny Pokemon are fromthe Johto region. These Pokemon are:
Tyrogue
Hitmontop
Something important to note is that Shiny Heracross will be implemented intoPokemon GOstarting on August 6th, 2021 at 10:00 AM in players' local times. This is due to the Space — Ultra Unlock Part Two event starting at that time and date. In addition to this, an event starringPikachu wearing an Okinawan kariyushioriginally scheduled for July 22 was also going to be the release of Shiny Corsola. This event however has been postponed to an unknown date.
Missing Shiny Hoenn Pokemon
TheHoenn regionis also missing a number of Shiny Pokemon originally from the region. These missing Pokemon are:
Defense Form Deoxys
Speed Form Deoxys
It is unknown when any of the Shiny forms of these Pokemon will be released at this time.
Missing Sinnoh Shiny Pokemon
Moving on to the fourth generation of Pokemon, there are still more missing Shiny Pokemon from theSinnoh region. This is further complicating with there still being Pokemon themselves from the Sinnoh region not yet added toPokemon GO. The Shiny Pokemon currently unavailable are:
Shaymin
Arceus
Like with Heracross, the Shiny form of Palkia will be released on May 27, 2025 at 10:00 AM in players' local times. This is once again due to the Space — Ultra Unlock Part Two event starting at that time and date.
Of the above Pokemon, Phione, Manaphy, Shaymin, and Arceus are not available inPokemon GOin any form. It is still unknown if or when they will be implemented into the game fully.

Missing Unova Shiny Pokemon
With Unova being one of the more recently implemented regions inPokemon GO, there are far more missing Shiny Pokemon compared to that of the previous regions. There are additionally still multiple Pokemon that aren’t implemented at all. The missing Shiny Pokemon in this case are:
Keldeo
Meloetta
Of the previous Pokemon, Zorua, Zoroark, Larvesta, Volcarona, and Keldeo are still unavailable inPokemon GOcompletely. Their release date is not currently known.
Missing Kalos Shiny Pokemon
The Kalos region is the most recent of regions to begin being fully implemented with many of its Pokemon still not available inPokemon GOat all. With this in mind, the Shiny Pokemon from the Kalos region not added intoPokemon GOyet are:
Vivillon (All wing patterns)
Hoopa Unbound
Volcanion
Of the above Pokemon, Scatterbug, Spewpa, Vivillon, Flabebe, Floette, Florges, Skiddo, Gogoat, Furfrou, Honedge, Doublade, Aegislash, Inkay, Malamar, Helioptile, Heliolisk, Tyrunt, Tyrantrum, Amaura, Aurorus, Hawlucha, Dedenne, Carbink, Phantump, Trevenant, Pumpkaboo, Gourgeist, Bergmite, Avalugg, Zygarde, Diancie, both of Hoopa’s forms, and Volcanion are not yet implemented intoPokemon GO.
Missing Galarian Form Shiny Pokemon
While all of the Alolan regional forms of Pokemon have their Shiny forms implemented inPokemon GO, the same cannot be said for the Galarian forms. Many of these forms additionally have their own exclusive evolutions that can have Shiny forms of their own. The missing Shiny Galarian forms and their evolutions at this time are:

Stunfisk
The Shiny forms of Galarian Meowth, Perrserker, Galarian Farfetch’d, Sirfetch’d, Galarian Weezing, and Galarian Stunfisk will be implemented intoPokemon GOon August 20th, 2021 at 10:00 AM in players' local times. This will be due to the Sword and Shield — Ultra Unlock Part Three event happening on that day.
Of the previous Pokemon, Galarian Slowking, Galarian Articuno, Galarian Zapdos, Galarian Moltres,Galarian Corsola, and Cursola are not available in any way inPokemon GO.
