Summary
Pokemon GOhas announced an increase in the storage of items and Pokemon. Every day,Pokemon GOplayers catch new creatures and get items by rotating Photo Discs and participating in events. Over time, it’s normal for players to accumulate items and Pokemon, occasionally finding themselves having to discard some of them to create breathing space in their inventories.
When trainers start theirPokemon GOadventure, their backpack storage starts at 350. On the other hand, a novice trainer can store up to 300 Pokemon. While that may seem like a lot,Pokemon GOhas more than 800 creatures, including legendary Pokemon, Mythical Pokemon, and regional forms. If the player exhausts their Pokemon or item storage limit,Pokemon GOallows them to expand by buying 50 slots for 200 coins. Coins, in turn, are obtained by buying them with real money or by defending Gyms. Currently,Pokemon GOplayers have a specific limit for storing items and Pokemon, but Niantic has decided to change both just in time for the holidays.

Pokemon GOhas increased its item storage limit to 6,300 and the Pokemon storage limit to 7,300. To get the upgrade,Pokemon GOplayers must buy 50 slots costing 200 coins in the in-game store. Previously, the storage for items was 5,800, while thelimit for storing Pokemonwas 6,800.With the latest change, each storage has increased by 500 slots compared to the previous limit. Now, to have maximum space,Pokemon GOplayers need to spend 4,000 coins, which will cost $39.98 when buying two packs of 2,500 coins. To maximize the storage of a new account, a player will need 51,800 coins, which cost a whopping $399.96 for four packs of 14,500 coins.
The announcement of the expansion ofPokemon GO’s storage limit generated divided reactions among players. Some considered the news more suitable for hardcorePokemon GOplayers, while some liked it. One Redditor was happy because, although they’re not a hardcore player, they like to keep a Pokedex with more than one copy of the same Pokemon. Other trainers also noted that they have maximized storage without spending any real money on the game, so the announcement didn’t impress them as much. While Niantic allows trainers to speed up their progress with microtransactions, it’s common for players toprogress inPokemon GOwithout using money.

The expansion in the storage limit for items and Pokemon comes at an opportune time, asPokemon GOstarted a new season. Based in the Hisui region, trainers will see new Pokemon rotations and events such as the special Community Day on December 16 and 17.Pokemon GOalso gave the first details of the Pokemon GO Tour 2024, an eagerly awaited event that confirmed Los Angeles as the first participating city.
