The world ofOne Pieceis incredibly massive with tremendously well-written characters that are compelling in more ways than one. Just like Oda has managed to amass an incredible main cast ofthe Straw Hat Pirates, he has also written some tremendous villains in the story.

While the vast majority of the villains are still relevant inOne Pieceto this day, as is the beauty of this series, there are some that have been, more or less, forgotten or don’t play as important a part in the main story anymore. These villains were, at one point, commendable in their own right and brought terror the best they could to the screens.

7Don Krieg

Don Krieg was first introduced to the fans during the Baratie arc and he has never been seen after. Krieg was the captain of the Krieg Armada, which was a massive fleet of 50 ships that sailed the seas of the Grand Line for 7 days. On the 7th today, they ran into Mihawk, who entirely obliterated their fleet, leaving only the flagship, the Dreadnaught Sabre, standing, but in a battered condition.

Krieg then came back to the East Blue, where he posed as a major villain in the story and stood in the path of Luffy. He was known as the strongest man in the East Blue and that in itself made him very fearsome. Despite having major ambitions, Krieg disappeared after his defeat and has never appeared since. It appears that Luffy completely broke him and his defeat also saw him lose all the respect that he had gained on the seas. Krieg will most likely never be relevant ever again, however, he served his purpose of an intimidating East Blue villain very well.

6Gin

Gin was the number two of Don Krieg and an incredibly fearsome fighter, as was evident from his performance during the Baratie arc. Although he stood as a villain in the path of Luffy and Sanji, he did have a kinder heart than Don Krieg. Gin formed a very good relationship with both Sanji and Luffy and this came after Sanji won his heart with kindness.

Nonetheless, his duty to Don Krieg was absolute and he wore his heart on his sleeve while serving him. Gin disappeared with Krieg and hasn’t appeared in the story ever since, even though he promised Sanji that they would meet on the Grand Line. Fans have been waiting for Gin to make a major appearance in the series once again, however, that hasn’t happened yet. Hopefully, Oda hasn’t forgotten Gin, however, judging by the way things stand right now, he might as well have been.

5Arlong

Arlong appeared in the story as the main antagonist of the Arlong Park arc, which succeeded the Baratie arc. He was a powerful Fishman known to be a fearsome fighter who had terrorized Cocoyashi Village, among others in the East Blue. Arlong fought Luffy in an incredibly difficult battle, however, he ended up losing, since Luffy was far above the level that he expected him to be.

After Arlong’s defeat, he was likely sent to Impel Down, although this hasn’t been confirmed yet, however, given that he was already there once before, it would make sense for him to find his way back there. Surprisingly, he was nowhere to be seen during the Impel Down breakout. Although he was a very significant character during the Fishman Island flashbacks, Arlong himself has not appeared in the story ever since he was captured. Fans would love to see him return one day and play a minor rolein the final saga.

4Kuro

Captain Kuro was the main antagonist of the Syrup Village arc, which is wherethe Straw Hat Piratesmet Usopp. He was introduced to the fans as the Butler Klahador, however, his falseness was only revealed much later, when it was made known that he was actually the Captain of the Black Cats Pirates and had formulated an incredible plan to take Kaya’s wealth for 3 years.

Kuro was defeated by Luffy, but he was not captured by the Navy after. Yet, fans did not get to see much of him after his defeat. The only time they saw him was when Luffy received his first 30 million berry bounty. He has been forgotten in many ways, however, knowing Oda, he can become relevant at any moment.

3Morgan

During the Shellstown escapades of the Straw Hat Pirates, Ax Hand Morgan appeared as the main antagonist and was taken down by Luffy and Zoro. Morgan was relevant after the arc as well as he had his own cover story, which also introduced the fans to Garp.

At the end of this story, Morgan escaped the Navy, however, he was seen later on in Django’s cover story where he passed out after dancing and drinking. Where exactly he is currently remains unknown. Given that he is a weakling, he is likely not going to play any part in the story moving forward, however, knowing Oda, nothing is impossible.

2Enel

Enel is an incredibly important characterin the world ofOne Piece. He served as the main antagonist of the Skypiea arc, where he revealed himself as God. In many ways, Enel also served as a caricature for the Celestial Dragons, which makes him doubly special. His goal was to travel to a land far away called Fairy Vearth, which is actually the moon. He was stopped in his tracks by Luffy as he could not destroy Skypiea and return it to the Blue Sea as he wanted.

However, his goal of getting to Fairy Vearth was not stopped as, at the end of his battle, Enel managed to get where he wanted. In his cover story, fans also get to see him use the automata and fight in the Space Pirates as well. He has not appeared in the story for nearly 20 years now and has, in some ways, been forgotten. However, he is a character who can still hold great relevance, given the knowledge that he possesses.

1Smoker

Smoker was introduced to the fans as an antagonistduring the Loguetown arc. As a Marine Captain, he never let any pirates pass through Loguetown into the Grand Line. Luffy, however, managed to escape his grasp. Smoker decided to chase him throughout the Grand Line and even made his way to the New World. The last time fans saw him be a relevant character was on Punk Hazard, where he actually collaborated with the Pirates to take down Caesar as well as Vergo.

Smoker has been irrelevant in the story since, which is rather strange, given that he’s a very important character. While fans might not think that it has been that long, Punk Hazard was actually 11 years ago, which means Smoker has been missing from the main action for over a decade. Although not a traditional villain, Smoker is still a major antagonist in the series and fans would hope for him to come into the fray sooner rather than later.
