One PieceChapter 1064was yet another incredible chapter full of action and other important details. The main focus of the chapter was the fight between the Heart pirates and the Blackbeard Pirates. The two pirate crews have been engaged in a very serious battle and the winner will get to keep theother’s Road Poneglyphs. The fight is very important for both crews, which is why neither of them can afford to slip up.
In addition to the fight, the chapter also disclosed some very important information pertaining to Dr. Vegapunk, and his possible ally, Monkey D. Dragon. This was a big confirmation, as Vegapunk has been serving the World Government for a long period of time, so any sort of connection between Dragon and him could drastically change the course of the series. It is possible that the two of them could be plotting against the World Government, which would also explain why CP0 assassins were ordered to destroy all of Vegapunk’s bodies.

The Fate of Big Mom
While the attention of the fans was captured by the events taking place toward the end of the chapter, there are two big moments that have been overlooked. The first is the possible confirmation of Big Mom’s death. When the Heart Pirates were attacking the ship of the Blackbeard Pirates, the focus was turned toward what was happening inside the ship, and it was revealed that Pudding was on the same ship, andsome of Blackbeard’s underlingswere boasting about their Commodore’s power. In response, she told them that they would be slaughtered by Big Mom if she is still alive. To quiet her down, Blackbeard’s goons stated that Trafalgar Law was the person who killed Big Mom and that she wouldn’t be coming after anyone.
When Big Mom was defeated by Law and Kid, she wasn’t proclaimed to be dead. However, she crashed into the volcano pit where she was joined by Kaido. Before crashing, Big Mom wasseen cursing Roger for starting the Great Pirate Era, which was the reason why she couldn’t get her hands on the One Piece and was eventually displaced from the Yonko. During the fight, she was severely injured by Law and Kid, and it is highly improbable that she would still be alive after taking Law’s Puncture Willie attack. An important thing to remember is that Oda still hasn’t officially stated that Big Mom is dead so the words of the pirates in Chapter 1064 should be taken with a grain of salt.
Blackbeard Pirates' First Casualty
The Blackbeard Pirates are among the most feared pirate crews in the world. They came into the spotlight during the Marineford arc when they nearly destroyed the entire island. After the war ended, they went on to defeat the remnants of the Whitebeard Pirates and replaced them in the Yonko. Since then, the strength ofthe Blackbeard Pirateshas only continued to increase. They even started hunting people with powerful devil fruits to bolster their ranks.
So, when the crew started fighting against the Heart Pirates, the consensus was that they were going to emerge victorious without any problems. Surprisingly,the Heart Piratesmanaged to put up a great fight, and they even managed to take down one of their members. InOne Piecechapter 1064, it was confirmed that Stronger, the horse of Doc Q had died. This comes just after his devil fruit power was revealed. Stronger had eaten the Uma Uma no Mi, Model: Pegasus, which was a mythical zoan type devil fruit. While Blackbeard was fighting Law, Stronger was caught in the former’s attacks. The terrifying power of the Gura Gura no Mi caused quakes in the air and Stronger came crashing down.
As the wielder of a mythical zoan, Stronger should have managed to survive, but it doesn’t seem that the devil fruit improved his health as he still appeared to be sickly. Stronger’s death was confirmed by Doc Q, who said that it was a shame that he died. With Stronger’s death, the mythical zoan type devil fruit is back in circulation, so it is possible that someone else from the Blackbeard Pirates will eat it.

What It Means For The Story?
While the demise of Stronger is not that impactful, Big Mom’s death, on the other hand, changes a lot of things. With Big Mom no longer alive to lead her crew, they need to find a new captain, who will give them some much-needed stability, as Whole Cake Island is in a complete mess due to the attack of the Germa Kingdom and the Blackbeard Pirates.
The obvious choice for the position is Charlotte Katakuri, who is an incredible fighter, but even he would have to work hard to stop the crew from being disbanded. Katakuri has the qualities required to keep the crew together, albeit it will be interesting to see if he can put them into practice. He has some big decisions to make such as, will he go toWano to confirm whether Big Momis alive, or will he just stay put and protect his siblings? For now, the answers to these tantalizing questions remain unknown, but there is no doubt that the answers to these questions will be disclosed in the future.
