Marshall D. Teach, better known as Blackbeard, is one of the strongest pirates in One Piece. He spent years as a member of the Whitebeard Pirates before ultimately killing Thatch and running away.Blackbeard took the Yami Yami no Miwith him and started his own crew.
Next, Blackbeard got his hands on the Gura Gura no Mi, which allowed him to ascend to the top of the pirate ranks. He became a Yonko and solidified himself as one of the most dangerous pirates in One Piece. Despite all his power, the Yonko is not infallible. In fact, there are many characters who are vying to achieve the same goal. With that in mind, here are Blackbeard’s biggest rivals.
Bounty: 3,189,000,000 Berries
Buggy is the latest person to jointhe race for the One Piece. Formerly a member of the Roger Pirates, Buggy held his captain in very high regard. Even though he does not have the same fearlessness as Roger, Buggy is just as ambitious as the Pirate King.
Buggy gulped down the Bara Bara no Mi after being startled by Shanks. While Buggy rues the moment he ate the Devil Fruit, it is hard to deny that it is an unbelievable power, especially with the number of swordsmen in One Piece. The Devil Fruit allows Buggy to split his body into multiple parts, and he can control each one individually. This makes it easier for him to catch his opponents off-guard.
Buggy expressed his desire to get ahold of the One Piece in the Final Saga, but that won’t be easy given that the biggest names are interested in the same thing. While Buggy is nowhere near Blackbeard’s strength, the former’s organization can prove to be a real handful in battle.
3Edward Weevil
Bounty: More Than 480,000,000 Berries
Edward Weevil is aformer Shichibukai who made his debut after the time-skip. He is the self-proclaimed son of Whitebeard and Miss. Buckingham Stussy. His claim definitely raises a lot of eyebrows, but according to Kizaru, there are similarities between Weevil and Whitebeard, with the biggest being their strength. The Admiral admitted that Weevil’s power reminded him of a young Whitebeard. Weevil also has the same facial hair as his late father.
Weevil has expressed his desire to avenge his father, who was killed by Blackbeard. While Miss. Buckin stopped him from meddling in the affair, there is a chance that Weevil might face his father’s killer in the future. Weevil has shown that he is protective of things that belong to Whitebeard, such as Sphinx Village, which is why he fought Ryokugyu to defend it. Currently, Weevil has been imprisoned by the Marines.
While Weevil is not a direct rival, he has the potential to become one of Blackbeard’s biggest enemies.
2Shanks

Not manyOne Piececharacters exude the same kind of aura as Shanks. The Yonko was one of the earliest characters to be introduced in One Piece, yet there is very little that fans know about him and his past. One can only hope that Eiichiro Oda raises the curtain on this particular mystery in the Final Saga.
When it comes to strength, there aren’t many better than Shanks. He has all three kinds of Haki at his disposal, and he can use all of them to the highest degree. Shanks' Future Sight allowed him to avert disaster in Elbaf as he saw the amount of damage Kid was going to cause. His Conqueror’s Haki and Busoshoku Haki make his attacks impossible to defend against. Moreover, Shanks' Conqueror’s Haki can prevent otherpeople from using their Future Sight. This can make all the difference in a fight, especially when fighting top-notch fighters. Shanks has been open about his desire to claim the One Piece, so it is obvious that he might cross paths with Blackbeard, who is also looking for the same thing. The two Yonko have a history, that they would want to put to rest.
1Monkey D. Luffy

Monkey D. Luffy is the captain of the Straw Hat Pirates. Like Blackbeard, Luffy has become a thorn in the side of the World Government in next to no time. He has been involved in some big events that have shaken the World Government to its very core. Luffy is unwavering in the face of danger, and he will do anything to achieve his dream.
Luffy possessesthe Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika,a Mythical Zoan-type Devil Fruit that allows him to turn into the ancient Sun God. Luffy’s most powerful is Gear 5th, in which his body undergoes a drastic transformation. With this power, he was able to take down Kaido. However, Luffy is not solely reliant on the Devil Fruit; in fact, he has excellent control over his Haki.
He can use the basic as well as advanced variants of Haki. The combination of his Devil Fruit and Haki almost makes Luffy unstoppable. Blackbeard and Luffy are bound to fight one another in the future, as they both want to claim the treasure left by Gol D. Roger. Needless to say, the battle between the two will be remembered for years.
