There’s a chance the newNvidiaRTX 4080 graphics card could be getting a little bit cheaper by mid-December, which will be pleasing news to those who have been hoping to get one. With AMD soon to launch its new RDNA 3 architecture, andIntel joining the race with its Arc GPUs, the next generation of graphical technology is only going to get more competitive. While this will represent more choice for PC gamers, it’s not exactly cheap to upgrade, especially given team green’s recent offerings.Things have been quite tough for Jensen Huang and his team. Not only has the company’s new Ada Lovelace range been mocked for its size and ridiculous price tag, not to mention problems with melting parts, butNvidia has cancelled the 12 GB version of the RTX 4080due to an excess of previous generation products. Things don’t appear to have gotten off to a great start, but there may be some good news on the horizon for those who want a new graphics card, but are waiting for prices to drop.RELATED:The GTX 1650 Has Become The Most Popular GPU Among Steam UsersAs reported by PCGamesN, Twitter user @harukaze5719 saysNvidiamay be reducing the price of its 4080 16GB GPU shortly. The news comes from Mydrivers.com, which says that the 4080 is “a bit outrageous” in terms of how much it costs to purchase. It goes on to say the price could get adjusted this month, adding that AMD is due to release its first RDNA 3 graphics card on December 13, so this could account for why Nvidia is keen to start lowering the price tag on one of its products at least. However, a source indicates that the two are not related, and team green wishes to cut the price “for its own consideration” and is “not afraid” of what team red are about to unleash.

Despite how much it costs for brand-new graphics hardware, and the community scoffing that’s come from it,Nvidia has said the RTX 4090 sold out in just two weeks, having shipped 100,000 units. The company also reports strong sales for its latest GPU architecture, which seems impressive given that a lot of people are not prepared to fork over so much for Ada Lovelace currently.

WithAMD’s RX 7900 just around the corner,Nvidiawill once again be battling it out with its biggest rival for supremacy in the graphics card market. Who will come out on top remains to be seen at this stage, but team red will have a chance to close the gap if it can launch its RDNA 3 products at a more reasonable price.
