Fortniterecently launched Chapter 2 Season 2 in its battle royale mode, adding a number of map changes and new features to the game. This includes the introduction of new Mythic weapons, which are gold-tier weapons that deal incredible damage. While it’s true thatFortniteplayers have to put in some work to actually get their hands on a Mythic weapon in the game, many feel that they are overpowered.

InFortniteChapter 2 Season 2, players can now kill special NPCs at the new locations on the map to gain access to a keycard. These keycards in turnopenFortnitevaultswhich house the Mythic weapons. At the time of this writing, there are five Mythic weapons inFortnite: Scar Assault Rifle, Boom Bow, Minigun, Heavy Assault Rifle, and Drum Gun. All of these weapons are incredibly powerful, but two in particular have been pointed out as being especially overpowered inFortnite.

It seems manyFortniteplayers think that theDrum Gunand Minigun are overpowered in the game.Fortnitepro Ninja recently used the weapons in a stream, and even he remarked on their unfairness. He apologized to players he killed using the Drum Gun, and pointed out how the Minigun was so accurate that it was like a laser.

Considering how many people seem to think that the newFortniteMythic weapons are overpowered, it’s possible that Epic Games will decide to nerf them in future updates or event vault them. For those who may not be terribly familiar withFortnite, Epic often removes weapons and items from the game and adds them to the “vault.” Sometimes thesevaulted weapons and itemsare reworked and added back, but other times they never return to the battle royale game.

Since the Mythic weapons seem to be a big part of theFortniteChapter 2 Season 2 themethis time around, it seems unlikely that they are going to be removed entirely. If Epic does anything to them, it will likely just try to balance them.

Just like any other season ofFortnite, there will likely be many changes in the game beyond just the Mythic weapons. AsFortniteChapter 2 Season 2 moves forward, fans can expect a slew of new content added on a regular basis, including aDeadpool skinand much more.

Fortniteis out now for PC, PS4, Switch, Xbox One, and mobile devices.
