In the world ofNaruto, the ninja reign supreme. They are blessed with ridiculous abilities that allow them to fight against each other and sometimes even against extraterrestrials. The fights inNarutousually involve super-strong characters, and because of this reason, the stakes are very high.

There is no room for compassion as even the slightest mistake could result in death. So, the ninjas are trained to be ruthless in their fights, not everyone can follow this strict code. Throughout the series, there have been instances where characters have chosen to be honorable rather being cruel, and by displaying their mettle, they are respected by the entire ninja world.
7Jiraiya
Jiraiya was a member of the famed Legendary Sannin. He was respected throughout the world because of his achievements. As a young ninja, Jiraiya was not the smartest, but after he reverse-summoned himself to Mount Myoboku, things began to change, and he ended up becoming an excellent ninja.
After he had grown up, Jiraiya was offered the role of Hokage multiple times, but he turned it down every single time. He cared more about the future of the world than becoming powerful. Jiraiya devoted his life to the cause of finding and training the Child of Prophecy. Furthermore, when he was fighting the Six Paths of Pain, Jiraiya decided to fight till the last breath as he wanted to make sure that his student Naruto would be proud of him.
6Hiruzen Sarutobi
Hiruzen Sarutobi became theHokage of the Hidden Leafat a very young age. He was trained by Hashirama Senju and Tobirama Senju, and both of them acknowledged his talent. Due to his immense wisdom and strength, Hiruzen went on to become the longest-serving Hokage.

Unlike the other powerful characters in the series, Hiruzen did not possess any Kekkei Genkai. He earned the title of the “God of Shinobi,” with his hard work only. With his leadership, Hiruzen carried the Hidden Leaf through multiple tough periods.
5Itachi Uchiha
Itachi Uchiha was labeled a prodigy of the Uchiha Clan. He grew up while being surrounded by war and bloodshed, which influenced his thinking. As an adult, Itachi thought a lot about peace, and he was willing to go to any lengths to make sure that no harm cameto the Hidden Leaf.
Itachi went as far as killing his entire clan including his parents, and then he became a rogue ninja and joined the Akatsuki. This resulted in him becoming an international criminal, but Itachi made the sacrifice because he wanted to protect the Hidden Leaf from any danger. His actions made him an honorable person, who took his secrets to the grave.
4Hashirama Senju
Hailed as the “God of Shinobi,” Hashirama was the First Hokage of the Hidden Leaf. He was blessed withthe Wood Release Kekkei Genkai, which made him the strongest Kage of his time. In addition to his Kekkei Genkai, Hashirama also possessed tremendous chakra reserves.

Despite being so powerful, Hashirama never allowed power to get to his head. When Tobirama killed Izuna, Madara refused to stop fighting, which made Hashirama upset. Hashirama asked Madara what would make him stop the war to which the Uchiha replied that he wanted Hashirama to kill himself. The God of Shinobi did not hesitate for a second and as he was getting ready to kill himself, Madara stopped him. This cemented Hashirama’s position as one of the most honorable characters in the series.
3Might Guy
Might Guy is arguably the best taijutsu user in the entire series. He had no talent when it came to ninjutsu and genjutsu, so in order to become one of the best ninjas, Guy had to train extra hard. Guy’s father helped him to train, and he also taught him about the Eight Inner Gates.
After Guy successfully mastered the Eight Inner Gates, he became extremely strong. He showed his true strength during the Fourth Great Ninja War when he foughtagainst Madara Uchiha. The legendary Uchiha was dominating the battlefield, so Guy took it upon himself to fight him. Guy opened the eighth and the final gate, which granted him a significant boost and enabled him to fight Madara. Guy dominated the fight and impressed Madara so much that the latter acknowledged Guy as the best taijutsu user.
2Hanzo
Also known as Hanzo of the Salamander, he was the leader of Amegakure. Hanzo had a very fearsome reputation and it has been stated many times that his opponents used to run away because they feared him a lot.
During his prime, Hanzo fought against all the three members of the Legendary Sannin at the same time. Hanzo managed to win the fight and he allowed the three Hidden Leaf ninjas to escape with their lives.
1Minato Namikaze
Minato Namikaze played a crucial role in the Third andFourth Great Ninja Wars. His involvement in the Third Great Ninja War cemented his reputation as one of the best ninjas of all time. He managed to take down entire platoons by himself, and his efforts weren’t overlooked as eventually he was made the Hokage.
Minato was trained by Jiraiya, and he believed that his student was destined for great things. Sadly, Minato didn’t get to live for long, but even in the short time that he was alive, he made a big impact on the series. He bravely gave away his life for the sake of the Hidden Leaf, a sacrifice that will be remembered for generations.
