Monster Hunter Riseis a game that’s mostly about taking on huge monsters in exciting fights to the death in order to carve said monster for weapon and armor parts. However, there are some passive and more relaxing activities that players can partake in, and one of those things happens to be fishing. Yes, hunters can fish inMonster Hunter Riseby checking out a fishing spot, which can be found in every one of the five biomes. For players seeking out a Speartuna, this guide will point them in the right direction and also teach them how to properly fish.
Before players run off to find the Spearfish, it can actually only be caught if players arevisiting the high-rank version of Frost Islands, the second locale inMonster Hunter Rise. In order to reach high-rank quests, players must reach the 4-star quests in the Hub. There are no high-rank quests for the solo village quests, so players will need to keep taking on key quests in the Hub until they wrap up the 3-star missions.

Where Is the Spearfish in Monster Hunter Rise?
The easiest way to find a Spearfish inMonster Hunter Riseis by going over to theFrost Islands in high rank, and then heading over to the fishing spot in area 3. If players check out the map below, they can see the spot marked in a red circle. It’s very close by to the first base camp, so hunters shouldn’t have issues with finding it. It’s also marked on the map with a small fish icon, letting players know that it’s possible to fish there. And the good thing about fishing inMonster Hunter Riseis that players don’t need to bring an actual fishing rod to catch fish.
How to Fish
Once hunters find the fishing spotin the Frost Islands, they will want to press the A button to interact with the spot and start the mini-game. Each fishing spot will have different fish depending on the locale, but players should be on the lookout for one that resembles a swordfish. Once players see it, they should move the left stick to choose the fishing spot and then press A to cast the lure. Once a fish bites on and goes underwater, hunters should press A to reel it in.
If players are having trouble finding the Speartuna, they can also look in the Lava Caverns biome, in the area 3 fishing spot. And again, players should make sure that they’re in high rank before going on a quest or expedition.
Monster Hunter Riseis now available only for the Nintendo Switch but a PC port is expected to launch in early 2022.
