Fans of theMonster Hunterfranchise will receive content relative to bothMonster Hunter RiseandMonster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin. To commemorate the release ofWings of Ruinand the successful launch ofRise, Capcom has announced a DLC plan known as the “Capcom Collab,” which will be the first of several in the future.

Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruinwill release on July 9th as a contrast toRise, focusing an emphasis on taming monsters in an RPG setting. WhileMonster Hunter Risewill receive DLC content fromthe upcoming release ofWings of Ruin, the latter will also receive content based on the former, offering recognizable characters and armor from both titles, with some content arriving as early as this week.

The collab will span across several months over the course of the Summer, beginning withMonster Hunter Rise. InRise, players will have a chance to earn an armor for their Palico based on Tsukino, one of the major characters inWings of Ruinon June 18th. On July 9th, players who have save data fromWings of Ruinwill earn the “Rider” layered armorset inRisebased on the armor the protagonist wears in the former.

Wings of Ruinplayers will, in turn, have the opportunity to earn the Palamute monstie as a potential ally, based on the companion inMonster Hunter Rise. The Palamute inWings of Ruinwill be available for players on July 15th with more DLC planned over the course of the year. During the announcement, Capcom had revealed a “roadmap” forMonster Hunter Rise, citing the “Capcom Collab” as 1 of 3 yet to be announced.

Aside from the planned DLC,Riseplayers can expect patch 3.1 on June 24th which will include emotes, sunglasses, and armor to dress up their companions. At some time by the end of July, patch 3.2 will release, including a “Capcom Collab 2,” and in August, patch 3.3with another collaborative DLC packagewill become available, offering players content for bothMonster Huntertitles over the course of the summer.

The cross-promotion idea is great for fans of theMonster Hunterseries as it will give players incentives to try outWings of Ruin, a more story-driven experience that has historically been unlike anything in the main series. Switch owners who wish to try out the RPG will have a chance to play the free trial version on June 25th, with progress carrying over to the main game upon release.
