There have been many popular servers that the community created over the last decade. Because of this, there are plenty of options for players to choose from when looking to find a server for them. Whether it’s a normal experience inMinecraftor a server dedicated to creating something brand new, there are a lot of different worlds to look into.
10PixelmonCraft
There are plenty of servers based entirely around popular mods. Pixelmon is one that has seen many multiplayer worlds created for it, which makes sense since it’s a mod based around one of the most beloved properties out there:Pokemon.And one of the best servers to experience the mod in isPixelmonCraft.
The primary hub is actually a gateway to many different regions, all designed inMinecraftworlds. Meanwhile, with the power of the mods, players can explore these regions and catch Pokemon as they see fit. They can also do battle with other players, butthere are no gymsthat need to be worried about.
9Minecraft Central
The larger, more popular servers in the Minecraft community tend to offer users a little bit of everything. That’s the idea behindMinecraft Central, one of the biggest servers out there and one that’s been around since 2013. Those that enjoy survival mode game types could check out the Faction area or the general Survival area.

A project that began back in 2010, a full year before the official release ofMinecraft1.0, Minecraft Middle Earth tasks the players to travel to many of the landmarks made famous by author J.R.R. Tolkien and help with jobs around the server. There is also the ability to practice building on a theme plot as well. The map itself is 30,000 blocks big.
7Herobrine.org
Those who have been involved in the game for a long time will remember Herobrine, the mythical individual who supposedlymessed with people’s worlds. Well, his name and likeness is the focal point of the serverHerobrine.org.
Once again, Herobrine has a nice grab bag of things to do, but most of its offerings include competitive survival modes. Some of the creative options include Earth survival, which adds a geopolitical spin to survival. There are also direct combat modes such as Bed Wars and Sky Wars as well.
6Minescape
While the GamesLabs network offers plenty of modes to try out on their server, their most iconic staple is theMinescapeserver. This is a world that is inspired by the classic MMORPGRunescapethat reached massive popularity in the 2000s.
The server first launched in 2012 but was released in full in 2019. The world is fleshed out for players to explore an authentic RPG experience along withleveling up 23 different skillsalong the adventure. There are also plenty of bosses to face, items to collect, and quests to take on.
5Grand Theft Minecart
Minecraftis the best-selling open-world game out there. A game that has come close to it isGrand Theft Auto 5. So it only makes sense that the two would merge in some capacity and one of the best representations of that isGrand Theft Minecart, a server that is directly inspired by the crime-riddled adventure sandbox.
As expected, this server’s biggest feature is the 35 different weapons it offers its players, including a lot of guns. On top of that, there are ahandful of different vehiclesthat can be driven around from small cars to large tanks. The server also allows people to own their own apartment if they would like.
4The Archon
Over the years, one central part ofMinecraftmultiplayer has been various forms of combat between players.The Archonis one of the biggest servers purely dedicated to different game modes that involve PVP action. Its two biggest modes are Factions and Skyblock, each having three regions for players to choose from.

There are also modes such as Prison, Robbery, and Outlands that all have some extra layers to them that involve strategies like leveling up the different gear and joining clans of players. There is also just a basic survival if players don’t want to deal with the complexities of other modes.
3PirateCraft
While most of the ships players come across in vanilla Minecraft are sunken ones,PirateCraftlets players live out the dream of having those ships resurrected and in action. There is only one mode in this world, and that is pure survival. However, there are some added features that make this an adventure for a buccaneer.
Players can make their own custom ships and ride around in them. They can also create or join crews of players to sail around and take down other pirates. There are even ways to build castles with functioning gates and bridges for ships to sail through. It’s a much different take on the game, especially those itching fora new pirate experience.
2Mineplex
When thinking about the best servers during the lifetime ofMinecraft, one of the most popular ones isMineplex. An official partner ofMinecraftdeveloper Mojang Studios, Mineplex is a mini-game server that currently features 13 different modes for players to try.
Among them are Survival Games, Speed Builders, Draw My Thing, and Cake Wars. This server once held a world record for most concurrent players on aMinecraftserver in 2015 and early 2016. The server has both a Java Edition variant and a Bedrock Edition variant.
1Hypixel
The records broken by Mineplex in 2016 were soon overtaken byHypixel, which still remains one of the most populated servers in theMinecraftcommunity. There are a total of 19 different modes that people can try out, including some unique ones in Quakecraft, Mega Walls, Murder Mystery, and VampireZ.
The Hypixel team welcomes over 100,000 unique players during the busiest hours of the day. The players are also treated to a rank system that allows them to have specific abilities in the lobby. The server has become such a success that the team behind the Hypixel server is currently developing an indie game calledHytale, which is expected to release in 2023.
