Several weeks ago, the publisher and developer Capcom released astory trailerfor the forthcoming fighting gameMarvel vs. Capcom: Infinitewhich not only gave fans an idea of the title’s plot in its single-player campaign, but also offered up extended information on the release’s various modes and features. Now, the company has decided to show off some of the game’s pre-order incentives in a fresh piece of footage that displays the various costumes one can receive for certain characters on the roster upon reserving a copy of the title.
As seen below in the latest trailer forMarvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, fans who decide to pre-order the title will get four different costumes at launch for the heroes Thor, Ryu, Hulk, and Mega Man X. Instead of his classic winged helmet and cape, the alternate duds for Thor depict the God of Thunder in a shirtless warrior form with short hair and a beard, while the de facto face ofStreet Fightergets a variant costume in the guise of Evil Ryu. Hulk goes full Gladiator with a suit of Roman-inspired armor, and Capcom’s Blue Bomber becomes Command Mission X with his alternate skin.
Of course, while all of the aforementionedMarvel vs. Capcom: Infinitecharacters look decidedly nifty in their new gear and get-ups, it’s a safe bet to make that fans will want to have a selection of alternate looks for the other brawlers in the game. If history is any indication of what’s to come in the next entry in the series, then all of the Capcom and Marvel fighters includingGhost Rider, Chun Li, Spider-Man, and the entire cast should have a handful of substitute outfits to make them appear more stylish and dynamic.
All things considered, it will be interesting to see if being able to get the four different costumes for Thor, Ryu, Hulk, and Mega Man X will provide enough motivation for fans to pre-order the title, as many have already expressed dismay atMarvel vs. Capcom: Infinite’s surprising lack of new characters and X-Men members, as well as its rather compact list of characters from which to choose at launch. For the sake of the developers, though, fresh faces likeGamora, Jedah, and Captain Marvel will hopefully offer fans enough excitement to buy the game once it goes live this month.
Marvel vs. Capcom: Infiniteis set to launch on July 28, 2025 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
