Manor Lordsallows players to take up the mantle of a local lord who is only givensome settlers, a few supplies, and an empty, uninhabited tract of land to settle in. Everything from attracting more people to the settlement to building houses for those people to managing the local resources falls under the lord’s responsibilities.

While there will be enough empty land at the start for a community to put their roots down, as players expand their settlements, they’ll run into the issue of too little real estate very quickly. Much of the land will be covered in trees and players will need to find a way to remove them to continue expanding. There is no way to delete trees directly inManor Lords, but there are a couple of creative solutions.

How to Delete Trees Using a Field in Manor Lords

Placing any structure will immediately delete all trees in that area to make way for construction.Fields and Pasturesare structures that don’t cost anything to build and havecustomizable borders, meaning players can make them as small or as large as they want. This will let players clear land in hyper-specific patches, which is ideal for custom builds.

How to Delete Trees from Steep Terrain in Manor Lords

While Field or Pastures work for 90% of the time, in case an area is classified as steep terrain, players will not be able to use them as a means of removing trees. Fields and Pastures can only be placed on flat terrain.

If this happens, players canuse a buildingas a replacement. This can be anything from a Storehouse to a Windmill or even a Corpse Pit. As long as the game considers it possible for it to be built on steep terrain, use it.

Windmillsare typically the easiest structures to build on steep terrain.

However, unlike Fields and Pastures, which are free, most structures come with a cost. This means that players will need to remember todemolish the structurestraight away after placing it so that none of the workers bring over the required timber andplanksto build it. Of course, if you forget, just demolish the building, and all resources used to construct it will be returned. But the time and manpower that went into building it won’t be refunded.

The Cosmetic Erase Shrubbery Tool doesn’t delete trees, only shrubs.

How to Remove Trees Using Logging Camps in Manor Lords

Trees are useful resources; a player may not want to directly delete them and waste the timber just to clear a patch of land. This is where Logging Camps come in. Logging Camp workers can be directed to only cut down trees on a specific patch of land.

To do this, select theLimited Work Areaoption in the Advanced Tab of the Logging Camp context menu.Shrink the circle (CTRL + Mouse Scroll Wheel)until it only covers the area that needs to be cleared of trees, and let the workers do the rest. Depending on the size of the circle and the density of the trees, it can take anywhere from three months to a year to completely remove all trees in a given area.

How to Plant Trees in Manor Lords

Trees are valuable commodities that retain their value even in the late game. If players end up removing too many trees or simply harvesting them to extinction, they’ll want to know how to plant more.

To plant trees, build aForester’s Hut,assign a family to work there, designate empty land where they should plant trees, and let the game do the rest. This area should be near a logging camp for maximum efficiency so that new trees can replace the ones being cut down and work isn’t interrupted. It’ll take at least a year for trees to start growing. If an area is not assigned, a Forester will start planting trees in any empty patch of land they find.

Foresters don’t plant trees in winter. They act as unassigned workers during this season.
