Genshin Impact’s new hangout quest with Layla comes with a twist: an anxiety meter that will track how nervous the character currently is. This new mechanic will change the interactions with Layla, shaking up the gameplay of a classic type ofGenshin Impactquest.

ThelatestGenshin Impact3.6 updatecomes with a lot of new content for fans. Not only players will get to explore a new part of Sumeru, the Girdle of the Sands, but will also gain access to two new characters via the gacha wishing system: Kaveh and Baizhu. Players will also be able to participate in challenges in new domains, get brand-new weapons, and complete more quests. Among these new missions, there are two story quests, which are focused on Nahida and Baizhu, and one hangout event with Layla.

One of the most interesting additions to the new update is the anxiety meter inLayla’s hangout event, which is named her Stress Value. This feature is specific to this character, and it did not appear in previous hangouts. Most characters get an approval meter, and if you annoy them, you may end up failing in the quest. For example, players who fail to remember the instructions about how to deal with cats in Diona’s hangout may annoy her if they insist on using the wrong approach. Layla’s quest, however, will shake this old model up a bit.

More than being happy or annoyed with the protagonist, Layla is tense in her hangout quest. She’s a student in Sumeru Akademiya and has lots of assignments to complete, all while suffering from constant anxiety, something thatacademics who playGenshin Impactcan relate to. So, the goal is to be friendly with her without her having a complete meltdown. Players who can manage to keep Layla calm will reach one of the six endings of the quest. By seeing them all, they will learn more about the character and get some cool rewards.

Layla is also part of thecurrent banner inGenshin Impact. At the moment, Dendro Archon Nahida and Nilou are the two five-star characters that can be found in the Limited Character Banner, and Kuki Shinobu, Dori, and Layla are the four-star characters. This means thatGenshin Impactplayers will have a very high chance of getting her via wishes, and may focus on acquiring her constellation if they like the character after trying out her hangout quest.

Genshin Impactis currently available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
