King of the Hillcreators Mike Judge and Greg Daniels are back on top. It’s been over 25 years since their hit animated comedy series,King of the Hill, first aired on theFoxnetwork. Now, the funny duo is reuniting by launching their brand-new animation company, Bandera Entertainment.

Judge and Daniels have spent the past years putting all of their focus and creativity into Bandera, having big dreams and goals to bring forward groundbreaking content. The two are obviously masters when it comes to both animation and comedic timing, but they also have a desire to break the stereotypes often attached to animated series. Most animated series either fall strictly in the comedy, fantasy, or action genres, leaving out a whole range of possibilities.

Judge and Daniels are determinedto push the format of animation, challenging the viewer’s previous notions of what animated series have to be about, and what type of mood must be delivered to render them success. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, which broke the news of Judge and Daniels' new venture, Daniels stated, “We were very excited to go into different tones and different styles and try to expand the animation art form. We’re in a golden age for content, right? That’s animation too. That was one of the things we were talking about in founding the company: let’s push animation into all these different genres.” Luckily, Judge and Daniels aren’t alone in this ambitious endeavor, joining them is former YouTube Head of Originals Dustin Davis.

Since Judge and Daniels took their time, they are about to fill up an entire roster of more than 12 animated series, which are all currently at different stages in development at Bandera. One series notably beingBad Crimes, which Dustin Davis is helping produce alongside Erica Hayes. The series has been picked up by Netflixand is starring Nicole Byer and Lauren Lapkus. The show has been described as an “adult-animation, dark comedy procedural.” The vision for Bandera seems to have come about due to Judge and Daniels really just wanting to champion and help progress talented artists they have either come across or worked with in the past.

Daniels stated, “Mostly what Bandera is doing is trying to get us in more of a supervisory role. That’s what we’ve been really concentrating on: using our taste and the people we’ve worked with and trying to help other people achieve their visions that we think are cool.” Fans will be delighted to hear that as much new, fresh content is coming their way, a small dose of nostalgia will still be provided with thereturn ofKing of the Hill, although details are completely off limits at this point.

Of course, there are some rumors floating around thattheKing of the Hillrevivalwill in fact be set 15 years in the future. This time jump would be an easy way to ensure and eliminate the possibility of certain plotlines and narratives becoming stale and repetitive.
