Summary
The last couple of chapters ofJujutsu Kaisenhave been some of the best in the history of the franchise, with Sukuna finally being pushed to the back foot against Yuji’s continuous onslaught. As the young sorcerer finally understands his true potential, he has awoken multiple Cursed Techniques in order to bring down the King of Curses for good, with one of them being Sukuna’s own Malevolent Shrine.
Yuji’s growth in such a short amount of time has been quite surprising, as most people can only use a single Cursed Techniquewhile he can use several. However, many fans believe that there is yet another technique under Yuji’s belt that allows him to do things that other talented sorcerers inJujutsu Kaisen,even Sukuna and Gojo, can’t, so let’s take a look at what this secret hidden technique could be!
Yuji’s Potential New Technique
After joining the battle against Sukuna, Yuji was shown to be far more formidable than he ever was before, as he could keep up with the King of Curses. When he jumped into the fight alongside Higuruma back in Chapter 244, fans noticed that he was different, in the sense that he had new demon arms that have now been confirmed to be a power-up he gained after ingesting the remaining Death Paintings.
Though he started out rough, Yuji has more than picked up the pace as he is currently dominating Sukuna in Chapter 257. He now has access to his mysterious soul-swap Cursed Technique, Blood Manipulation,and even Sukuna’s Malevolent Shrine, but he may also just have a hidden technique that’s superior to the rest; Black Flash Manipulation.

Chapter 257 doesn’t just show Yuji laying the smackdown on Sukuna, but it shows him doing so with repeated Black Flashes. This is an insane feat when one takes into account the fact that not only has Yuji surpassed the record for most consecutive Black Flashes, he has doubled that record. Before his fight with Sukuna, Nanami held the record with 4 consecutive Black Flashes, which Yuji left in the dust after landing 8 on his opponent.
By doing so many in such a consecutive fashion, it almost seems like Yuji has mastered the Black Flash, or has sufficient control over its activation to some degree. A Black Flash, by its definition, is theactivation of Cursed Energy 0.000001 seconds before a hit lands, which makes for the strongest physical attack that is possible within the series, that also deals critical damage to the person it’s used against. It is thought to be so difficult to achieve that not even Gojo or Sukuna can do it on a whim, but Yuji seems to be doing just that.
Through these Black Flashes alone, Yuji has done a great deal of damage to Sukuna, so much so that the Disgraced One seems to be nervous for the first time after his fight with Gojo. With every single consecutive hit from one of Yuji’s Black Flash-infused attacks, Sukuna’s weak points are taking damage from incredibly powerful critical hits, spelling what might just be the beginning of the end for the villain.
What This Means For The Future Of The Series
With his recent showing and growth within the series, Yuji has been more or less confirmed as a talent in the same tier as Gojo and Sukuna. Not only does he have multiple powerful Cursed Techniques, but he hasalso learned Reverse Cursed Techniquewithin the span of a single month and has grasped a fundamental understanding of Jujutsu that most other characters simply do not have.
Going forward, it is clear to see that this may just be the beginning of the end for Sukuna. After a considerable amount of time, the King of Curses' reign of terror may finally be at its end and the one person to usher in this new age of peace is the same one Sukuna always thought nothing of; Yuji Itadori.
Black Flash releases Yuji’s potential amidst a shower of black sparks!
Symbolically, Yuji seems to be taking on the role of his sensei, as the strongest of his time who exists to foster the strength of his peers and teach the new generations to do the same. With Yuji’s overpowered new ability performing so well against Sukuna, it can be said thatthe dream that Gojo wanted to achievefor the world is finally starting to come to fruition.
However, all hope may not be lost for Sukuna fans. While the King of Curses has taken significant damage from everyone and isn’t performing optimally, this is stillJujutsu Kaisen. It’s entirely possible that fans haven’t seen the last of Sukuna, as the Disgraced One still seems to have the mysterious Black Box ability that he has not used this entire time, which holds some of the most devastating destructive potential in the entire series.
It should also be remembered that Sukuna still has control over Megumi’s vessel, so it’s unclear whether he can continue touse the Ten Shadows technique to summon Mahoragato aid in his fight against Jujutsu High.
Gege Akutami has created an amazing and captivating world that is full of tragedy and surprises, so fans of the series should not be too shocked if Sukuna somehow manages to make a comeback, since a massive portion of his power remains a mystery to this day.
